I'm surprised the song you're looking for isn't "watch out now," by the Beatnuts. That's the first one that came to mind for me, I was apalled the first time I heard Jenny from the Block, that she ripped that beat (or they must have let her!).

I saw watching International Music Feed at my mom's the other day and saw a video that I loved. The song was in Spanish and talked about all kinds of food. The video was animated in a over-the-top, shynola style (but not done by them). It featured a guy that was eating food and dancing. The song was in Spanish and talked about hamburguesa ensalada queso and mayonasa. While those words were sung, the words were spelled out in the animation. The chorus was "Hip hop hip hop!" If a catchy hip hop(?) song.

Oddly, I could've swore that the info on the screen said that it was from France. I thought the name of the the song was "hip hop," but all google and allmusic.com searches haven't yeilded the video. Thanks in advance (it's been driving me crazy and I don't have IMF to watch it again).

EDIT:
Quote:
The video you are referring to is "Hamburguesa" by the band "One T". The band is from France and the song is indeed sung in Spanish.

Hey guys, i'm trying to find a song from The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. It's not in the OST. It plays when Sean goes with Han into the backdoor club where Twinky claims to be able to attract all the models and where Han says "careful ladies, he's underage" or something like that.

I find the song incredibley annoying, so it'll be perfect for my ringtone. (Tokyo Drift by the Terriyaki Boyz is probably going to be my back up. 2 songs from one movie! score!)

I heard this song on the radio station a few days ago and I knew I heard this song before, I forget where and I was trying to find out the artist.

I had my cell phone in my hand at the time, so I recorded some of it using that.

Here's a clip of it. - http://users.adelphia.net/~themizzhouse/clip_one.wav

Also, in the chorus, was a deep voice that went "I (bent or went) down..."

=============

Here's a second one that I have of a different song, I recorded it also. The sound quality on this one is not as good as the first clip and is shoddy.

http://users.adelphia.net/~themizzhouse/clip_two.wav

Thanks for any help !

Catcha back on the flipside,
keyshawn

BTW, dvsONE: thanks for the link ! Hope to see you on the board in the future !

Primitive Radio Gods, "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand".

Whew, that was going to piss me off to no end if I didn't come up with it.

No help on the second, I can't even hear enough to identify anything.

I looked on a few threads on its IMDB board ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0463985/board/threads/?p=10 )
and didn't find anything that could lead me to it. I recommend to give it a try (though registration is req'd) and ask there too.

I need help find a song.

It's like a blues/jazz type of song , it's song by a woman. It goes something like

Maybe i was right, maybe i was wrong, maybe i was hypnotized

Not in that order but something like that. I know it's not alot of info your working with ,but i believe in you people.

Let me add it kinda sounds like sheryl crow or Joan Osborne or something in that blues/jazz type of voice.

I don't know if it's in that order, Diana Krall has a very strong blues voice, This voice isn't as strong, somewhat weaker. I hear it from work almost everyday, tell ya what i'm going listen alot hard this time and try to write down the words..... Don't give up on me yet :0 , i gotta wait until monday or tuesday though.

But let me add i think i seen a video of this song i'm looking for, it's black and white and she is working in a circus or something like that.

I am trying to find a song..

It's a slower song (from the 90's maybe) and the only lyrics I have are:"And it feels... ooo wah ooh wah ooh wah uh"

'And it feels' may not be the exact words, it could be something else.

The lead singer/vocalist is male. I suspect it a solo performance, and not a band.

Hmm.. It could be "Boy From New York City" by Manhatten Transfer.. That song was from the early 80's. The song is a remake. Ab Libs first recorded the song in the 60's. Or it could be "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" by Diana Ross.
too many songs with "Oooh Wah"

SimpleMind, thanks for the reply. I have to check out the songs and see if either are it.

In the meantime, I'd appreciate some help with another song from anyone that is willing...

Could you please take a few moments and listen to the embedded loop I created on my Webspace, and let me know if it sounds familiar to you?

I pulled it from a recently released song that I won't name here - I want everyone to listen with an empty mind - but I suspect I've heard in the past, well before this recent song was released.

Thanks!

It certainly does sound like another song. Do you want me to post the song I have in mind here or do you want to wait until more people have had a chance to hear it?

There's a song that I keep hearing on a classic rock radio station. Usually if I like the song, I can figure the name out by googleing some of the lyrics. Unfortunately, in this case, it's completely instrumental. Seems to me that it's somewhere around 3 minutes long. It has a part about halfway through where a choir is going "ahhh". The guitar parts remind me of the beginning of the Who's "Pinball Wizard" (mostly because the mystery song keeps repeating a fast riff that kinda sound like the beginning of PW).

I hope I've given enough information. Otherwise, I'll have wait until I hear the song again before I can identify any more of it's characteristics.

Hopefully, someone here can make a connection. I always listen carefully after the next fews songs play, but the DJ always falls just short of identifying it when he lists the songs he's just played.

Thanks in advance!

I think this could be "Fire on High" by ELO...

OK... now I need help. I'm looking for an instrumental song, starts with a single banjo picking a melody. Each time the melody repeats, another instrument joins and the key goes up. Eventually a raucous New Orleans type band is carrying the melody, until finally the end is that single banjo part again. I heard it in a waiting room today and it was driving me nuts because I searched high and low for that song 10 years ago and was frustrated in my search. Now I've reopened my quest... HELP!

Anyways the song is very slow and mellow. I think it was anyways, of course the DJ made it a bit more dancey. the only lyrics that I can remember is the chorus or just part of the song I believe goes "call my mother, call my mother"
it could also be kill instead of call.
also could be brother instead of mother.

Sorry I know im working w/ nothing here, but I think its a fairly new song out there.
Just had to come on here because this song has been in the back of my mind since I first heard this song. i think I've found it.
I think it is Tears for Fears - Mad World
It has been so long that I remember it a bit more dancey, but that could just be my memory or the DJ.
I know that this song has been remixed for the Donnie Darko soundtrack, but that version is alot slower.

Here's another request:

It's a psychadelic rock song from the 60's, probably with the word "Time" in the title. It's not very obscure (It was used in a Labatt's Blue commercial a few years ago) but I've never known the band name or even the title.

Throughout the song, the band yells "Time!", and there's a section towards the end where the tempo slows right down leaving just the reverberating sound of a ticking clock. Time!

I'm not having much luck searching because of how common the word Time is in song titles. I've looked up Artists like The Animals, Edwin Starr, and the Stones to no avail.

Any suggestions?

It sounds a bit like it could be by The Animals, and it's a bit pscycadelic, but I can't identify the band

I've been chewing on this all night. I want to say it's the Moody Blues, but I can't find the lyrics or quite reconstruct the song in my head.

Chambers Brothers.

The Chambers Bros.

Time Has Come Today

"Time Has Come Today" defines the musical sub-genre known as psychedelic soul. This was its best song, its biggest hit, and a perfect statement for its time. The Chambers Bros. began in Mississippi as a four-man gospel group before relocating to San Francisco, adding a drummer, and enjoying five Top 100 hits. "Time" was released as a single and is heard in a very extended version on their album, The Time Has Come. Their fusion of varied styles hinted at what was to follow with fellow Bay Area musicians Sly & The Family Stone.

(J. Chambers/W. Chambers); Produced by David Rubinson; Joseph Chambers, guitar, lead vocal; Willie Chambers, guitar, lead vocal; George Chambers, bass, vocal; Lester Chambers, vocal; Brian Keenan, drums; Rec. 1967. From The Time Has Come Today, Columbia CS 9522; Originally Released 1967

That's it! Awesome, thanks.

/runs off to i-tunes.

Here's a Christmas themed one.

It's a parody song sung to the tune of "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and it's about how Dasher is on his last legs and needs to be put down.

"It's time to put Dasher down!" is a repeated lyric

The one lyric that I remember goes "His fur was mangy and a patchy brown. It's time to put dasher down!"

I remember it sung by just one guy with an acoustic guitar.

Thanks in advance.

"It's Time to Put Dasher Down" was a parody by the Toronto musical comedy duo called Brock & John (Brock Simpson & John Mitchell). They played the song live on the Humble & Fred show one year and the station recorded it and replayed it every year.

Brock & John started at the Fringe Festival in 1991 and were very popular in the mid-90's, usually playing at the Rivoli. They resurfaced on MySpace recently at http://www.myspace.com/128867475, but that song is not available on their page. It was not on their album "Unrehearsed", so you may not find a recording of it. The Humble and Fred show might have the only recording. Very funny song.

I want to know the name of the girl/model in the fim clip of Dreams (Deep Dish feat. Stevie Nicks).

She is mesmerising - look into her eyes and you will be hooked!

Thanks if you find it!

I periodically hear a song on the radio, and they always say it's Iron Maiden, but they never disclose the name. Additionally, my friend has an mp3 of it, but the only ID3 tag that is present says "Iron Maiden"
The opening lyric is "You fire your musket but I'll run you through" or something very similar. It has a fast tempo (even for them) and ends a little abruptly. Also it is badass.
What's it called, and what album is it on if you happen to know that too?

Two songs from commercials

I'm looking for two songs from recent commercials I've seen on Comedy Central lately:

1) The Sarah Silverman Program's commercials.
2) The recent Hyundai Elantra commercial.

The one on SSP's commercial is just a few seconds long, yet its guitar-strumming is in my head constantly. The Elantra commercial has a soft techno/futuristic beat for most/all of the add, and I'd like to have it for a project I may be doing later this year.

the past couple of days, I've been listening to a song I downloaded off Limewire. It's called Heroin and it's recorded by Iggy Pop. It's absolutely fantastic, but the problem is that I can't find any mention anywhere on the net that Iggy ever recorded it. Lou Reed wrote a song called Heroin and this song has some of the same lyrics, but they are out of order and there are some of the lyrics of Horses by Patti Smith mixed in with it. So, I'm figuring that it's either a bootleg recording or someone has edited the mp3 tags and it's a different song or a different artist. Can anyone help?

Is it a live recording?
The only thing that I can find is a live bootleg (album) called Heroin Hates You, and with the way f/s networks tend to muck names, it might be a mis-labeled track from that disc.
