http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article.php?varArtID=168 Oakenfold is Back With An All New Mix Album, "Great Wall" Warner Bros. Music September 18, 2003 After last year's smash hit Bunkka Paul Oakenfold has taken the reigns as the greatest DJ in the world. In a career now spanning more than two decades, he has worked with such acclaimed artists and bands as Madonna, U2, the Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Moby, Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, Ice Cube and Nelly Furtado. For Perfecto Presents... Paul Oakenfold: Great Wall, the world-renowned Oakenfold leads an avalanche of top remixers as they collaborate with such artists as Madonna, Dave Gahan and Bjork on another dance electronica masterwork. If you think you are unfamiliar with Oakenfold's work think again. Oakenfold’s remix of Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body” was #1 on the U.S. Club Play charts. His remix of Madonna’s “American Life” was previously #1. Recently, with five albums on the American Top 50 Electronic Chart, he remixed U2’s “Beautiful Day” into a #1 U.S. dance hit and scored with Y2K’s Perfecto Presents Another World, America’s biggest-ever DJ mix album. In addition, he was the headline DJ on Moby’s massive Area:One tour of North America last summer. You also cannot forget his most recent remix of the King's "Rubberneckin'". Although each DJ has there own sound, genre and style, my top DJ's in no particular order: Ferry Corsten (System F) Tiesto Oakenfold (he also did a remix for James Bond's theme) Sasha and Digweed Danny Tenaglia Paul Van Dyk Barry Harris and Chris Cox (Thunderpuss) Victor Calderone Blank and Jones Talla 2xlc These are my opinion and may not be yours. But that's cool. Glad

yes, britney spears is also considered a "musician" and george bush a "politician"
i agree with all your choices but my intimate knowledge of his "mixing" techniques make me loathe him. he has a factory of 5 technical experts who produce and basically make his music for him. yes he is a good Dj but that is all. to consider him a musician or talented would be a farce -alec |
