Best place to buy songs on the web?

For those who've started buying songs what site do you use? Which site has the most selection? I'm thinking about springing for a digital jukebox (I'm looking at the archos or ipod), so I guess the next step after that is figuring out where to go for music.

Yes, I've used Kazaa, but I'd rather pay my 99 cents or whatever it is to get a nice clean copy of the song I want rather then scour fast track or gnutella for a good version (maybe I just like obscure music, because obviouly millions of people find P2P just dandy for getting the songs they want).

Anyway, any suggestions?

If you have a Mac I highly recommend iTunes. Has a little bit of everything and they are always adding songs. I think the Windows version should be coming out soon too.

I pay my $10/month to emusic and use their selection - they do you limit to I believe 2,000 songs per month and have none of the "pop music" (a if you ask me), mainly indie, older, jazz, and classical

the newer files are all encoded with LAME aps and sound very good for that format (still partial to MPC for lossy myself), but there are some of the older CBR 128 bit files on there still.

Hate to do a "me too" but I also vote for iTunes. The sound quality is very good, and there is some copy protection on there, but not enough that it makes the file restrictive by any means. They should be adding indie labels sometime soon - and the Windows version is rumored to be out in October.

Yeah, don't have a mac, so I'd need the Windows version. Althought Apple doesn't like to do windows any favors, so I doubt that it's a top priority of there's
