Hint: Siblings
|
I agree easy one (must be because I asked the question :D )
There has to be some new blood out there that knows the answer. And no, it doesn't have anything to do with Sam Phillips  |
I'm wracking my brain, nothing's coming other than something painfully generic. Do I get marks for really wanting to answer the question?
:) |
Quote:
The painfully generic answer is probably right, just take a guess. |
The hint worked. And yes, it's obvious. :)
Ronnie Van Zant sings for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Donnie Van Zant is singing and playing guitar in .38 Special. |

Tim Skold was in a hiar band named Shotgun Messiah. He has a new gig. Name his new band.
You may notice, that both questions I've asked relate to hair metal. I grew up in the 80s, and although I love almost all music, this is my real area of expertise. :) |
Grew up in the 80s as well and thought I knew hair metal, but I have been humbled.
Like the tree said to the lumberjack...I'm stumped. |
Hint: It's a pretty huge band. released a new album in the last 6 months.
|
Well, I cheated and looked it up, so I won't post the answer and I can tell you, as a classic rock kind of guy, I would have never known the answer.
The new band he is in is just not my style. Good luck. |
I too cheated and looked it up, and I also don't like that kind of music, but that doesn't make it wrong- To each his/her own!
Since I cheated, I won't answer. If there is no answer by 5:21 this afternoon, DiffEng, you will be the proud second stumper of this thread! At that point, you will need to come up with a new (hopefully slightly easier) question. Good luck all! |
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of his new band, but I can listen to them without wanting to switch stations or something.
I'll start thinking now then in case I have indeed stumped the board. :) |
I think you stumped the board.
next question please. |
Yes, you stumped the board on Marilyn Manson. I cheated, so I won't take credit. We need a new question DiffEng.
|
Since it appears that DiffEng is'nt going to post a new question,
as the originator of this thread, I will post one. This should be fairly difficult, but it is rememberance of The man in Black. A future country music star was in the audience when Johnny Cash recorded "Live at San Quentin" Name him. |
And just when I had a new question too.
I thought the prison CD was recorded at Folsom Prison? No idea who the future star is. |
Quote:
BTW, he recorded at both prisons. My dad had Live at San Quentin- great album, check it out |
No that's cool. I can wait until the next one I get right. :)
This one won't be it. I know shit about country music. |
Just a guess, Waylon Jennings
|
Hint: Okie from Muskogee
|
I almost said Merle Haggard the first time.
No, really I did. Next question: How did the band Yes come up with the title for their 1983 album "90125"? |
Postal code for the recording studio?
|

I'll give some hints later. Right now just start guessing, it'll be fun!!!:D |
ignore this post
|
No guesses??
Anyone, anyone. Bueller? Allright a hint that will probably give it away. How many of you own the album? Show of hands? Ok, good. Get out your album, cassette or CD, it doesn't matter. Make sure it's the original release not the live version. Look at the back or on the side. See if you find the answer. |
My albums are all packed away and I don't have it on CD, although I should, it's a great album. Is it a birthdate?
|
Quote:
What your looking for actually appears on all albums. If you look at a CD, check the side. |
Is it the serial number of the album?
|

They didn't have a name for it so when the studio got the masters, it was labeld on the side as "Yes, album #90125" and the studio thought that was the name of it. The band liked it, so it stuck. To be fair, DiffEng gets to ask the next question. |
Good question G.O.T. And a lucky answer on my part.
Bring it on DiffEng! |
We need a question DiffEng
|
Allright. Looks like I have to jump-start this thing again.
How did the band Led Zeppelin get it's name? |
That'd go over about as well as a lead balloon. It originated from saying a certain band make-up would not work. So it was a joke saying we'll call it lead zeppelin because it'll go over about as well as a lead balloon.
I have a feeling that DiffEng is away for the weekend, so I say we give him a chance to ask a question when he's back. In the meantime... Where did UB40 get their name? Jdoe |
It's the British unemployment/inland revenue form.
They started out as a barber shop quartet. (thanks Melllvar) What is Adam Ants' full real name? |
I think it is Stewart Goddard, but not sure on the spelling.
I'll continue the real name thing. What is Elvis Costello's real name? |
Actually, it's Stewart Leslie Goddard (Adam Ant)
And Elvis Costello is Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus. So, who was Elvis Costello married to (for 16 years)? |
Elvis was married??
Wow, didn't know that. Nice to see ya join this thread Jadzia! |
Not only was he married once and had 2 children, but he's presently engaged....
|
Cait O'Riordan?
hopeing it's right..... *easy one* John Bonham's middle name........ (and Bonzo doesn't count) |
John Henry Bonham
Next Question: Jimmy Messina formed what band before he collaborated with Kenny Loggins for Loggins and Messina. |
