Classic Funk
Ok, I'm looking ot put together a Funk Compilation cd. What I've currently got on CD is some George Clinton with Parliament Funkadelic, Solo Bootsy Collins, James Brown, Kurtis Blow, A couple of Stevie Wonder disks, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Cameos greatest hits
Can anyone give me some ideas for anything else I might want to include on the disk. Or just any good funk music? |
The Groove Line by Heatwave and Stomp by The Brothers Johnson are a couple I always liked. Kool & the Gang had a few good ones. You gotta have Sly & the Family Stone's Thank You For Lettin Me Be Myself.

Please Give Me Album Recommendations
Hey funk gurus... I was just giving this thread a bump because I was in need of some funk album recommendations.
You see, I'm trying to widen my horizons and I was hoping to attend Funk 101. Who wants to be my teacher? So, if those of you qualified could list your top 10 funk albums, I'd be much obliged... |
Curtis Mayfield was left off the above lists
