Anyone ever hear of them? I just recently discovered them and they fucking kick ass. Their sound is unique and kicks ass. Also I've gotten into Burzum and Berzerker. They are more hardcore but still sound good nonetheless. Also, since Im listening to them now, Killswitch Engage fucking rules too.

I like all of those bands, including Burzum... even if the singer is a nazi.

The new Opeth is absolutley amazing, exactly what this world needs. Now if only everyone else could get their shit together

BTW if you like Damnation-era Opeth then you should check out Porcupine Tree as well...

Also, for Killswitch, the song Vide Infra is probably their best and is terribly overlooked.

i've heard a pinch of opeths eariler stuff, and its very tight with nice change ups. Though i am not a fan of the death metal vocals, but thats just me, music kicks ass. And as KWSN pointed out, Steve Wilson of porcupine tree helped produce some of their latter albums and he of course, is the main guy behind porcupine tree, and i definatly recommend porcupine tree

I missed Killswitch at Ozzfest last week - anyone get in there early enough to see them?

Yer opeth are fantastic, a lot of good bands coming out of the viking cold places! Check out Katatonia for a slightly similar sound. Dark Tranquility are a good death metal band as well.

welcome to the fold.. now get some of thier older stuff.. namely Black Water Park.. Still Life.. My Arms Your Hearse.. the older two are good as well.. but start with the ones mentioned...

Opeths Damnation is probably one of the best cd's ever made.
