Most Creepy/Disturbing Song Ever

This was inspired by the "saddest song ever" thread and all the tool/NIN references. What is the most CREEPY song you have ever heard? NIN has its few, but Tom Waits has "Earth Died Screaming" and "Black Rider." Truly freaky. Disturbing would be Tori Amos' version of " '97 Bonny and Clyde" Take your pick, and explain yourself.

theinfamous 08-11-2003 07:48 PM

some of the stuff of aphex twin's ambient works album. if i listen to it long enough i swear i will go insane.

Katyblu 08-11-2003 07:50 PM

Korn's Daddy song creeps me out.... just him talking about his father raping him is gross and creepy and just eww.....

fuelmyfire 08-11-2003 09:11 PM

Portishead's "Sour times" traumatized me as a kid

you also won't catch me anywhere near The Omen soundtracks

BrinlyNoya 08-11-2003 11:23 PM

the song itself isn't that creepy, but I vote for Christina's "Stronger Video" it was like a marilyn manson video with the song replaced by pop music.. it was... insane, and the way the girls moved was very very distrubing..

I think Soul Coughing's "Pensacola" rocked socks off.. the lyrics are very very haunting

agentsmith 08-12-2003 08:08 AM

the song by counting crows where the guy wants to be with his sister

doomdoom 08-12-2003 09:29 AM

how about the handful of pixies songs that he sings about already sleeping with his sister

rev_skarekroe 08-12-2003 09:45 AM

Anything by Acid Bath.

crumbbum 08-12-2003 10:02 AM

there's a korn song where he talks about beating and stabbing and f*cking his mother..... that's about as creepy as it gets, IMHO.

Andric 08-12-2003 01:38 PM

How about "The Most Offensive Song Ever" by Kenny and Mr. Hanky on the Southpark Christmas Album.

gallopingwanker 08-12-2003 05:27 PM

anything by "blessed are the sick"

rogue49 08-12-2003 06:18 PM

Disturbed - Get Down with the Sickness.

Alice In Chains - Love, Hate, Love

Both freaky but good.

Derwood 08-12-2003 07:14 PM

"Careful with that Axe Eugene" by Pink Floyd. I reccomend either the Ummagumma version, or the version on "Live at Pompeii".

Either way you're lured into the repetition of the song until Roger Waters lets out a banshee wail that will make your hair's stand on end.

Spritebox 08-12-2003 07:45 PM

Akira Soundtrack - Requiem

or Illusion from the same soundtrack.

JamesS 08-12-2003 09:33 PM

Much of Floyd's artistry can be disconcerting at first listen. =)

Sleepyjack 08-12-2003 11:10 PM

definatly agree with JamesS

eris 08-13-2003 03:55 AM

OUt of left field - how about "Winter Kills" by Yaz? Eerie stuff...

The Hollow 08-13-2003 05:40 AM

I always found Climbing Up The Walls by Radiohead to be very creepy..."15 blows to the back of your head...15 blows to your mind...". Christ I love that song. :)

Eviltree 08-13-2003 06:01 AM

eminem's amityville is quite disturbing. I can onlt begin to imagine what goes on inside his little mind

JSD 08-13-2003 10:06 AM

I would have to say that "Run Joey Run" from the mid-Seventies is really creepy including the death angel choir at the end.

Sketch Artist Composite by Boys Night Out is pretty grim.

mercury rising by from autumn to ashes...read the sig... i cant imaine someone living their life in this way...i ve been down but i mean shit...so depressed so lonely

djtestudo 08-13-2003 08:41 PM

Jeremy probably.

I'll Be Watching You, I guess

I try to avoid creepy-sounding and disturbing music, as there is very little of that in country...

zztzed 08-13-2003 09:06 PM

If you are wearing headphones, the Dillinger Escape Plan version of Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" is creepy as hell, because they panned Mike Patton's voice all the way to the right, so it's like he's RIGHT THERE in your ear going "I want your soul, I will eat your soul".

mantra 08-14-2003 06:02 AM

death cube k.. it's haunting

Foopius2 08-14-2003 06:25 PM

someone said the sickness by disturbed, thats what im thinkin, but just the 'interlude' part

serge 08-14-2003 06:49 PM

disgustipated by Tool.

Try listening to that song in a dark room without looking over your shoulder a couple of times.

Some of the songs off of Marilyn Mansons Antichrist superstar album had a pretty creepy sound to them as well.

Johnny Rotten 08-14-2003 07:09 PM

I think it was "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath. Sounded like a band possessed.

Predator (tm) 08-14-2003 10:00 PM

"Kim" by Eminem, The mix of the piano in the back and then the power of the chorus i thinks.

Beltruckus 08-14-2003 10:02 PM

Revolution number 9 the beatles.

as beaufitfual as some of the music buckethead makes is... alot of it is distrurbing as fuck... especially what he does under the name death cube k...its ambiant sounds that im pretty sure if you fall asleep litening to them (liek i do bucketheads albums colma & electric tears) you will either die or wake up a psycotic axe murderer

Jonsgirl 08-15-2003 12:59 AM

Anything preformed by Aphex Twin. Which was already mentioned, but needs to be said again. Also the song Where the Wild Roses Grow by Nick Cave. The song itself is rather sad, but if you think about it, it's truly disturbing.

collide 08-15-2003 02:03 AM

I consider any song that over samples female orgasms to be creepy as hell. Lyrical content does add to the creepy factor too.

Probably not the same type of creepy that you originally had in mind, but still.

Certain ambient tracks are pretty creepy, especially if it involves uneasy scratching noises. Yipes!

fuzzix 08-15-2003 06:01 AM

'Dreams' by Delia Derbyshire, and some other guy. Early electronic music from the '60s laced with samples of people talking about their dreams of drowning, goes for about 45 minutes and is spine tingling stuff. Also, there is a song floating around out there called 'rectum' I think it MAY be by one of the daft punk guys. And yeah, as someone already mentioned Aphex Twin has some creepy sounds.

sipsake 08-15-2003 06:23 AM

Throbbing Gristle - Hamburger Lady
80's industrial. Song's about a severe burn patient.

There's also that vid out that blends Korn's [Dead Bodies Everywhere[/i] with scene's from incredibly violent anime.

Very good stuff!

The Ghost in the Shell soundtrack also has some very haunting music on it.

kalisto_911 08-15-2003 08:15 AM

Akira had some kreepy ass music in the movie and the soundtrack is probably just as eerie.

Also that Tool one with the little baby crying all echoy and shit, that is one of the creepiest tunes ever!

wwcd101 08-15-2003 11:20 AM

Maggot Brain - Funkadelic

Cool, sick, twisted and it was the 70's.

Thanks for listening.

jimk 08-15-2003 02:12 PM

probably that i love you, you love me song from barney.

1973 08-15-2003 02:57 PM

This doesn't exactly qualify, but the movie of Pink Floyd - The Wall creeps the hell out of me, especially "Goodbye Blue Sky".
