if this isn't the appropraite forum for this, I apologise, but does anyone else have songs that they have to stap what they're doing, no matter what it is, and bop along to? Maybe it's just that I'm a helpless nerd, but I can't listen to Birdhouse In Your Soul by They Might Be Giants, without dancing like a fool. Same with The Terrible Secret Of Space by The Laziest Men On Mars and Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven by Godspeed You Black Emperor.

Damn, I just realised all my favourite bands have long stupid names

Pretty much any good song will have my total attention and make me post stupid replys.

When I have a song in my head and can't get rid of it... I sing "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" to myself... works every time.

It's a huge distraction from whatever I'm doing. It just grabs my undivided attention whenever I listen to it.

Stairway To Heaven. I've heard it a million times but I still have to stop and listen to it every single time.

I'm going to have to agree with Bohemian Rhapsody and Only in Dreams. Bohemian Rhapsody is a great singalong song, and Only in Dreams is one where I have to make everyone around me shut up so I can listen to it.

I've discovered that any REM song played on the radio will do that. Usually I start thinking "when was the last time I heard an REM song on the radio.." and then fade on into infinity.

As for a single song, any one song, it would be Yoo Hoo by Imperial Teens. Every time I hear it, I flash back to the first time I heard it...actually any song that makes me think when the last time I heard it is a candidate.

on the total opposite end of the scope big pun's "still not a player" makes me stop whatever i'm doing and start singing. same thing with jay-z's "i just wanna love you" and "method man's bring the pain"

Add my vote to Stairway and Bohemian Rhapsody, especially when I'm in the car.

Add to that The Doors' "Rider on the Storm". The keyboard solo just takes you away, and the thunder clap at the end of the solo brings you back from your journey. It's just flippin amazing.

whenever i listen to music i half forget what im doing but evanescence lately takes my concentration away real fast

rad picks! Only in Dreams is a song i have to listen to all the way to the end... such an amazing build-up at the end.

i saw Ash play with Kind of Like Spitting and Saves the Day and during their set someone shouted a request for only in dreams. that had to be one of the coolest songs ive ever seen performed live... maybe because it was a cover and they did it dead on? or maybe just because weezer is a neat band and its fun to hear neat music.
