dashboard confessional...
i don't know how many of you have actually heard of or listened to dashboard confessional... but for those of you who have... how many of you liked him better when it was just him, instead of the entire band?
me personally, i liked it a lot better when it was just chris and his guitar... but thats just me... |
i listen to dashboard confessional. i prefer the band. i was never fond of just a guy with an acoustic guitar
the band version of hands down is great hehe |
While I like the stuff with a full band behind Chris, I far prefer it being him and his acoustic guitar. The new album has a lot of electric guitar stuff in it, and it is growing on me, but my favorite songs off it are "Ghost of a Good Thing" and "Carry This PIcture."

I've seen him in concert twice and he's great, but the fans are beginning to ruin it for me. His unplugged album was great music, but all his fans singing along the whole time, in such close proximity to the microphones, made it sound like a goddamn church service

Chris acctualy went to my now current vocal teacher, in South Florida. The only thing I like of his is this about 4 or 5 some EP he put out, it was really nice. But because we are from the same scene I respect his music and the fact that he's a singer/songwriter like myself.

he is absolutely incredible. possibly my favorite artist of all time. his songs are so real and he is just amazing. cant waite to get the new album on tuesday and see him in philly for 2 shows in september.
|
i used to like him... before he had a real album. i went to his first show in philly when no one knew him... then i say him about a year ago and it was horrid.
all of these gorilla-emo chicks singing along, he didn't even sing half of his set because the fans were so loud. ah well |
their ok i lieked the unplugged alot... and i saw him and his guitar alone playing... it failed to generate intrest for me i dont knwo y???

I'm in love with Dashboard.
I saw a show last summer in Boston, and I went to two solo shows in NYC this past May. Both amazing. The new album is amazing as well. Part of the appeal is singing along. I'm far from a gorilla-emo chick though, dont worry ;) I like the acoustic-Chris only type shows. And I can't wait to see the band with the new material. A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar rocks my little world :) |
I used to be a fan back in the day.... but he seems a little too cocky for a bastard who has yet to win some diehard fans. Saw his first 4-5 shows around here for about $4-6 a show... now i see his next show is set at $22... guess that means its not worth it. But the band just makes it sound like every other emo, whiny "ohh damn my girlfriend broke up with me" type band.

I guess i have a little confession of my own :p
I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but given i am still a bit of an adolescent i found myself quite liking some of these tunes.... My friends kinda got me hooked though. |
