driving music
I trying to put together a good driving album. Im into rock music alot, with kick ass riffs. Some songs Ive already chosen are
Deep Purple - Highway Star (obviously) The White Stripes - Broken Bricks (great riff) James Brown - Hot Pants (i like the bass line) Not much of a list. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what to burn. Can be anything really, as long its got a good sound, and flows with the rest of the album. Any ideas? |

Depend where and when I'm driving I guess.
Sometimes I enjoy some light listenting - old Tom Waits, Blues, Trailer Bride, Beck's latest, mainly vocal-heavy stuff. Sometimes Jazz. During the day if I want power music it's usally something "driving" any of Nick Caves songs that kick your ass (Mercy Seat, Papa Won't Leave You Henry, Babe, I'm on Fire, etc...) are excellent for this. At night I go more towards techno and drum and bass stuff. The James Hardway "Easy Is A Four Letter Word" CD is great for this. Flashing city lights + flashing beats = Flashing police lights. |
Man that Tenacious D track "the road" or whatever is awesome for trips, because it starts out all fast and quick, like when you start a long trip, but then the middle gets all serious like when all that energy is depleted and you are looking out the window are melancoly like. Its super fun
