A travesty in the music world!
 

Ok so I was flipping around and I landed on MTVII. They were having a top-ten voices of our time countdown as voted by the people. There were all the people you could expect, excluding the crackheads who voted for Christina Agulera. I was over-all pretty happy with the list the people had voted, especially Freddie Mercury of Queen in the #2 spot, but I was horrified to see Mariah Carey at #1!!!


Anyone care to comment?

Horrified to say the least.Mariah was probably voted in by those who believe the myth that she has an 8 octave range.Hmmm....humanly impossible.Must be the shorts that ride up her ass that deflect attention from her voice.Oh well,better her than the other sreaming diva..Celine Dion.

They never look at people like Ella Fitzgereld or other from the Jazz era.

Otherwise, it makes no sense.

You can't expect much from pop culture...it's unfortunate that many of the people who voted probably don't have any idea who Ella Fitzgerald is. Voices of our time...right...whatever.

Of course it's a travesty. MTV is a travesty.

Perhaps she belongs in the top 50 voices as chosen by people who still watch MTV.

Dam, Mariah Carey has a great voice. Too bad she has such terrible choice in the music and songs she performs.

just goes to show the ignorance of those who voted on the list in the first place..... seems no one appreciates good music anymore, they just go for the fad of the moment... these are the same types of idiots who, for instance, claim to be "punk", yet have never even heard of the Ramones, the Clash, or The Sex Pistols(etc)... i'm just surprised that so many of them (apparently) knew who Freddie Mercury is.

She has an amazing voice but can't make even a halfway-decent tune. All schmalty, syrupy shite.

Umm it's a station thats an offshoot of mtv..that explains it all.

i was disappointed that chris carraba, i think thats his name from dashboard confessional didnt make the list. that dude has an awesome voice.
