The BOTTOM of your collection!
Okay, we all have the threads where we post our favorites, now for something different: What's in your collection that you find yourself never listening to anymore, if ever?
Here's a few of mine: Dust (Peter Murphy) - this disc is aptly named, as it does indeed have a layer of dust on it. I love Murphy's solo work- each disc is unlike the others in my collection, but I fear "Dust" is a bit too far removed from anything he's done. Picture your favorite death metal band doing a country-western album, and you'll get the idea. This CD's almost ten years old, and it's only been played three times. Mind Chaos (Hockey) - I bought this because of one song, taking a chance that I'd like the rest. Boy, was I wrong! I couldn't connect to any of the other songs on the disc on any level. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (John Williams) - I had forgotten that songs that appear in the movie's trailer do NOT appear in the actual movie. This soundtrack is a drag to experience, much like the movie it comes from. The Shadow (Jerry Goldsmith) - I actually like this soundtrack, except that the Taylor Dane songs (so anachronistic in the 1930's setting) always left me lunging for the "skip" button whenever I listened to it. This was easy to do when I lived alone in my Spartan apartment- now I have to vault over my old lady's precious furniture, and I'm gettin' too old for that shit. Odditorium (The Dandy Warhols) - This disc'd be great of the Warhols could stay off the drugs long enough to finish a song. It seems like every song is about eight minutes long. That's not bad, except each song is only about three minutes, at which point the song kinda devolves into a random mess of instruments, as if the practice sessions were grafted onto the end of each song. So my closing statement is, anyone want to buy a few CDs, slightly used?
