Top 5 Favourite Pieces/Songs
I'm a sucker for lists, and I reckon that John Paul II may have been onto something when he said "Tell me what you love, and I will tell you who you are."
(I'm not one to quote the pope, but I see his sentiment ) Without further ado, my list. (I've attempted to get some genre variation in here.) 1. Walking On The Moon - The Police 2. Nocturne Op 9. No. 2 - Fryderyk Chopin 3. Momma Sed' - Puscifer 4. Since When - CunninLynguists 5. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Son - Pink Floyd Et tu? |
This thread reminds me of that Henry Rollins video.
It's hard to make a solid music list when it changes weekly. |

Nonetheless, surely you must have some all-time favorite pieces that really speak to you? |
If I had a gun to my head and I was being told to pick, I'd only come up with one song that would always go on the list. "In the Sun" by Joseph Arthur. Sad song, gets me every time.

Yeah, I've heard it before. Its a great song.
I don't much like Scrubs, but they do have a pretty good soundtrack. Certainly those Colin Hay songs rock. Reminds me of Beautiful World, which is another really great song. |

1. giving up- linken park 2. down with the sickness- disturbed 3. bring me to life- evanescenceomgomg 4. stand in the rain- superchick 5. your betrayal- bullet for my valentine |
Yeah my top 5 favs are always changing...I'm sure I'll look back at this list and think "WTF?" but I think I have a few that have stood the test of time and probably will always be favorites.
In alphabetical order because thats how its listed on the old itunes; Dark Was the Night (Cold Was the Ground) - Blind Willie Johnson Haunting...hey it wound up on the Voyager Golden Record, if its good enough for aliens its good enough for me. I Burn Today - Frank Black It just speaks to me, simple yet very effective. Neo Terra - Freddie Hubbard First jazz piece I played with a real combo, it always brings back great memories. One Down, One Up - John Coltrane Has John Coltrane lost his mind, stumbled onto some great drugs or tapped into some vien of genius few of us can understand...probably a little bit of each. Mothers Only Son - Yonder Mountain String Band What more could you ask for? Vengeful sherrifs, death, regret and sweet country love with the sheriffs wife...c'mon thats bluegrass gold. |
1)"Truly Madly Deeply"- Savage Garden
2)"Addicted"- Simple Plan 3)"Anything"- Simple Plan 4)"Differences"- Ginuwine 5)"I Gotta Be"- Jagged Edge |
