A request for gospel music
Looking for suggestions for some soulful, honest down-home gospel music. It should be warm and preferably sung sweet and joyously by an african-american lady and perhaps accompanied by a church choir. any suggestions, pointers or artists appreciated.

You might enjoy the works of Sallie Martin, Mahalia Jackson or Clara Ward amongst others.
Here are a few pieces I found poking around Youtube Keep an eye out for anything labeled "Urban Contemporary Gospel" (or often times simply "Black Gospel") and you should find what you're looking for. Happy listening.

No problem and very happy to help, I hope you find what you're looking for...I know there is nothing worse then trying to find a piece of music and you have no idea where to start. Best of luck.
