Unknown 80s/90s song / video stuck in my head!
Howdy TFPers,
Usually I'm adept at googling songs or somehow finding them through convoluted means, but whenever I get stuck I have to ask other people. Last time I was stumped I turned to TFP and I went as far as to upload a recording of a humming and someone was able to ID it so I know you guys are legit. Anyway, I have the vocal harmony of this song stuck in my head. I think it was from the late 80s or early/mid 90s. I think I remember watching the music video on VH1 as a kid. This dude was trying to go stop a wedding from happening. I think his car breaks down. Then he gets to the place and he can't get into the chapel because it's locked. I want to say the video was in black and white or in sepia. Someone here has to know the video I'm talking about. Just hoping it's matching the song playing in my head. Or maybe I'm insane. Thanks guys, but it's really been bugging me for a week and I can't put my finger on any of the actual words. I think I'm losing my mind. First day of work tomorrow :-o Thanks again, ~Mike |

You're probably thinking of the cover that The Lemonheads did of a Simon and Garfunkle song (can't remember it off the top of my head) that was originally in The Graduate. The cover was featured in Waynes World, and you can find it on that soundtrack.

The funny part is, it isn't the song I was thinking of at all. Memory fail. Definitely am becoming senile Thanks again guys haha ... if I can think of the song I was actually thinking of I'll post here, but I'll probably just have to wait and hear it again and then type some lyrics in my phone. EDIT: Decided to check out Jon Secada and THIS is the song I was thinking of!!!!! "Just Another Day" How weird is that - I got one Jon Secada song mixed up with another video I must have seen on VH1 when I was like five.... the brain is fucking whack. Finally I don't have the tune stuck in my head anymore...hahahahahaha. Time to start making a trophy for Idyllic. Thank you Last edited by MikeSty; 05-17-2010 at 05:43 PM.. Reason: AWESOME |

I'm so glad someone found the answer because it would've driven me crazy too, and I never would've guessed that.
I love 80's music. Anything from the 80's is Golden. Imagine what life was like without the internet. Big Brother (1984) was still inconceivable. |

Hi MikeSty, I truly enjoyed the hunt and considering I am a 80's & 90"s Pre VH1 when it "WAS" MTV kinda Girl, it was fun.... I remember the first MTV moment (before VH1 even existed), I watched it happen???? Yeah, I know I'm showing my age..... My husband helped too, although he was a real head banger then and would never admit to liking Jon Secada, though he knows all the songs, hahaha.....
I personally loved Secada's music then and can remember many a lovely evening with his voice in the background. Thanks for the memories.... it was nice reminiscing, and anytime you want to go back their, drop a song, I would love to go. MTV begins....
