How To Destroy Angels
 

So Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and wife Mariqueen Maandig have a new musical project together: How To Destroy Angels. Not much is known at this point, other than a teaser video (below) and that an EP is due out sometime this year. Should be interesting. What are your thoughts?

See, see, I googled Trent, Nine Inch Nails, I know you know that, I didn't, I love Nine Inch Nails, o.k. obviously in a few songs kinda way as I didn't know who Trent was, but I do now. How cool, I will be watching for this now also, Thank You. :thumbsup:

I'm enjoying what I hear so far too. Ever since Nine Inch Nails went label free, releases have come rather soon after they were announced (or even on the same day), so I expect that this EP will probably be out sooner rather than later.

Thanks yet again for another artist I may enjoy.

Clapton used to be god, but then the heavens shook with a violent force unlike anything the universe had ever experienced and Trent Reznor descended upon us and gave us the gift of orgasmic music.

A second video has been added to the website, this time featuring Atticus Ross....

Last night a third video was added and this morning a fourth... at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the EP is released before the end of May :D

Really like the full song, it's cool to hear a definite NIN sound with a (good!) female voice.

I like what I have heard from the videos, so maybe I will like the entire album when it is released.

I can't think of a more gross shocking title for any project, "how to destroy angels", gee... sounds like someone wants to go to hell.

Why would anybody want to destroy an angel?
I haven't even heard the record and I'm already frightened and angry.

It's hard for me not to take seriously because I know Trent is involved with some weird occult wisdom.

Interesting. I liked the Downward Spiral. Trent has mellowed, but still interesting.

Music itself is a mystical spiritual thing, even when the artist doesn't realize it.
When the artist does realize it, then it's all the more powerful.

Sometimes dark music can be very liberating, sometimes a curse.
It's a well known fact Trent likes his mescaline & goetia.

Got a credible source for that? I've been a fan of NIN for quite awhile, and I've never seen/heard/read any indication that Trent takes occultism seriously in any way. (Not to mention, even if he did he's a pretty different person now than he was in the 90s.)

As for the band name, I suppose it's hard for me to see it as in any way offensive since I don't believe in metaphysical beings.

Sounds a lot like Imogen Heap or Beth Orten.

SecretMethod, I don't have any real proof. There is a video floating around out there somewhere Tori Amos worked with Trent years ago on the song 'Past the Mission'. They were close friends, and it is well known that Tori enjoys her DMT and pagan magic, she never shuts up about it.
I've got nothing against Trent. I look forward to hearing the new album, but I won't buy it.

That's true, they were close friends, I'm not one to make assumptions by association though ;) They also haven't been friends for quite awhile now, after they had a falling out.

Tori is another one of my favorite musicians... but she's a weird one :p
