Take time for FUNK

A TV morning show here in my area had the SOS Band on performing "Take Your Time." Sweet. They were actually founded in Atlanta - didn't know that till now actually. Anyways, I occasionally get my funk on and make a few cd's for the car and this has inspired me once again.

Anyone else into some funk from the past? Love Rollercoaster? Brick House? Etc.? Discuss...

I like me some good funk. Jungle Boogie by Kool and the Gang seems to always fit the mood after a few drinks, when everyone's having a good time.

I don't know why, I like the song "Still diggin' on James Brown" by Tower of Power a lot. Just a nice hymn to the man.

On my first trip to Louisville, KY, I was lucky enough to stumble across, within 5-10 minutes of indiscriminate searching, two Cymande LP's from 1977 at a record store. Complete with bright blue, translucent records.

I totally missed all the posts in here! Yay for funk!

There's absolutely nothing better to listen to on the ride home / to a bar on a Friday during rush hour imo.

Mother's Finest is probably my favorite funk band of all time. Perfect combo of rock n' funk, aw yeah.

I recently dug out "One Nation Under A Groove", which is great and didn't deserve to be at the bottom of anyone's playlist.
