Coldplay
This band is too damn good.
I downloaded A Rush of Blood To The Head, the whole album and I had to buy it. Two weeks later I bought Parachutes too. They both have not left my cd changer of my car for weeks. I just can't get over how good both albums are. Watching them on DirecTV freeview made me love them even more.

Woo, uh.. yeah, the albums are good. Not great. I don't see how they were even nominated of the Grammys, as good as the Grammy commitee is at nominating things. Anyway, I do prefer Travis a little bit more than Coldplay. I just feel like Coldplay is doing everything in their power to wipe Travis off the face of the Earth.

I love Coldplay. I haven't seen them live personally, but have seen several "live" shows on TV, and they seem very good. I really liked them on HBO's "Reverb"

I download their albums too, but then I bought them as well.
I made a comp cd of my favorite ones and played it for my girlfriend in the car on a drive, she loved it too. I love the chorus lyrics to "Spies"

Well as a first hand account, Coldplay are very good live. I saw them locally with The Music as the opening band.
Very high energy and lots of lights, and i mean lots of lights. I was entertained, and my wife loved it as well. We actually had Sparks as our second wedding song. I'm a big fan and when they come back, i'll be back there again to see them. Since i live in the US they don't play them all the time so i can't complain, but i have their CDs in the car all the time. And as for Travis, i like them, but i can't listen to a whole Travis album, with Coldplay i can listen over and over again. |

This is my first post, and the coldplay title caught my eye...
I must agree that coldplay is great....especially for me, im someone that usually listens to hip-hop & R&B, but since i first heard coldplay, i fell in love with there sound. There is something about their music, that just relaxes me. and its great to wind down to, after a rough day. In fact, A couple of months ago, I purchased Parachutes and A rush of Blood....they were the FIRST CD's i've purchased in 3 years!!!! (i usually just download music). Ive really broaden my horizons since finding coldplay... Ive never heard of Travis, is it a similar sound? |

Yup, by far my favourite band. I can understand UKers being sick of hearing them all the time on the radio though. Canada has laws that say a certain percentage of air time on radio stations must be dedicated to Canadian music, I'm guessing UK has similar rules dictating how much of the air time must be UK music. One good Canadian (or for you guys UK) band comes out with a single song, and they play it non-stop for 6 months.

heh, saying i'm a fan of coldplay would be an understatement. I can sit there and listen to Parachutes and ROBTTH from start to finish. So damn good. Chris Martin's voice just owns everything. Some of my favorite songs would be....
Parachutes 1. High Speed 2. Sparks 3. Shiver 4. Trouble 5. Don't Panic ROBTTH 1. Warning Sign 2. Amsterdamn 3. Politik 4. God Put a Smile on your face 5. Greeneyes 6. Clocks 7. In my place Oh yeah, one of my top 5 favorite bands easily.

Very cool band, I got hooked when I heard "Yellow." They just write very beautiful songs. I just hope their excellence can continue to their next CD.

I'm definitely a fan of Coldplay. Parachutes if a far better album IMO than ROBTTH. Parachutes is definitely the quieter album, whereas ROBTTH is more of a rocker. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing them live yet. Someday perhaps.
yay Coldplay! |

I really don't like Coldplay at all, but to those who do, I would definetly recomend to you some Radiohead. It's great music, with none of the Dawsons Creek-sensitivity aspect to it.
On the same not, listen to the start of No Suprises (Radiohead) in fast forward. It sound a whole lot like In My Place(Coldplay). Coincedence? Whatever, idunno. |

I have recently become obsessed with Clocks. That song is phenomenal. I also really like The Scientist, Yellow, and Coldplay on the whole.

There was a while when I had to run screaming when ANOTHER DAMN Coldplay song would come on the radio. Radio saturation as killed this for me. I still think that the song writing is pretty good, and his vocals are unique - but too much of a good thing has dropped this band from my list.
Some thing similar has happeneed to the Foo Fighters lately too...

They're not bad, and they certainly suit a certain mood, but Chris Martin spends too much time trying to convince me he's sincere. And so many of the lyrics are just awful. AROB was definitely an improvement, though, so we'll see how the next turns out.
