So, I showed up at the Delerium concert on Tuesday and on the stage for the opening act was this trio: a pretty singer, a drummer and a bassist/keyboardist with a fretless electric standing bass. The singer's voice was quirky and unique and the music fit her voice so well. The composition of their songs was balanced and fluid. I didn't realize it until I had heard a few songs, but these guys were really worth paying attention to. So I did until the end of their set. It was engaging and very enjoyable.

I would describe their sound to be a mix of Lamb and Bjork. Their name is Elsiane and they are from Montreal. After their set, I went out to the lobby and met them briefly. I bought their CD and had them sign it. I really liked what they had to bring to the show.

Please check them out.

I hear ya, I liked it at the beginning when she was all ethereal, but in the middle she got kind of twangy, and as much as i hate to say it, she sounded "dumb."

Maybe it's just because I read the thread before listening to the track but my first thought upon hearing the vocals was: it sounds like she's making a funny face while singing. Her vocal styling (lisp?) is a bit distracting but the music is beautiful.

Great find - thanks for sharing.

This female vocal sounds almost exactly like Stephanie Dozen. Well... You know she joined Massive Attack during their last tour this summer.
