Damien Rice - Cold Water
haunting... really haunting |
miles davis: black satin
from on the corner i love this track, but it's better in context. o wait... edit: so in a self-indulgent moment, i lined up the entire first side of miles' 1972 album "on the corner" it's my favorite miles, and a masterpiece of tape collage. |
Black Sabbath - Ironman
because the movie totally rocks!!! |
Joel Plaskett Emergency - Drunk Teenagers... part of an excellent album.
|
The Blasters - Dark Night
1983..Whiskey a Go-Go...great times. |
Jim Croce - Time In Bottle
Hey, I embrace my emotional being, I leaked out a few salty drops, gazing at the flowering orchid that graces my table. |
The Cramps - Human fly
more early 80's memories. |
Andrew Sisters - Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
time to play Call of Duty |
The Weakerthans - A Plea From a Cat Named Virtute
The track of the day version was the best I could find. If you don't want to hear the guy describe the song just fast forward to 59 seconds, it's where the song starts. For you cat lovers out there, this song is written from the perspective of a cat living with a guy who appears to be going through a breakup or breakdown... |
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized
|
Supertramp - The logical song
|
I have tickets to go see Rush in July, and am super psyched.
Spirit of Radio. |
Django Reinhardt, "Montmartre"

I'm jealous, and I don't get jealous easily. I saw Rush in Portland, Or. a few weeks prior to joining the Navy, 1982-3? I think they just released "Moving Pictures." I'd been to a lot of concerts by then and the usual substances made crowds fairly rowdy. Rush had no opening act, really unusual back then. Rush took the stage and I swear the for most of the show the crowd sat silent in awe of the magic occurring on stage... either that or everyone dropped the same kind of acid. I remember Peart doing well over a 15min. drum solo. It was really something to see and experience. Enjoy yourself. |
Shawn Phillips - Woman
I have to thank my older cousins for introducing me to this musician. I wish I still had my old vinyl collection...ah well, His voice and tender vision will be with me for always. |
I am so behind with this, so in order to ease my condition... out the rabbit hole... end of the line, I must... get with the times
And so it goes, I will for the first time, try--and listen to the entire walla in one sitting. :surprised: |
David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World
for rb. |
Patti smith - Gloria
|
Syd Barrett _ Word Song
It works for either winding up or winding down. |

You just did. Ya know... your voice has heard hers and you just did it. By hearing and saying, you have done it. I wish I could have recordings of some of the 'lounge' ladies that were singing, in southern california...bout 1978 or so... okay...Johnny Winter - Too Much Seconal. |

Blind Superhero -Give Cancer The Finger
|
Cadence Weapon - In Search of the Youth Crew
Currently at the top of the Radio 3 Top 30... Cadence Weapon is making some excellent hip hop these days. By the way, this is a live version of the song, so the production values are not as tight as the one on the album. |
the chameleons.
one of the great undervalued bands of the 80s. a huge ice storm prevented me from seeing them live back in the day, before things went south for them. so i always hear them with a little twinge. 3 great albums then nothing. just goes to show you something or other. |
