Hey Baraka...
that is a catchy...tune.

I am having way too much fun perusing these song lists...
my dog is sitting in front of me with his leash in his mouth...

gotta go...

oh yeah..Lennon's 'Working Class Hero'....

jewels 04-15-2008 04:45 PM

A little Billie Holiday added to the list. Etta James always makes me think of her.

Sometimes I wish I felt like Billie Holiday sounds when she sings. Pure heaven no matter what the song.

Cynthetiq 04-15-2008 05:23 PM

Dan Baird - I Love You Period

Do you love me question mark.... please please exclamation point....

snowy 04-15-2008 05:29 PM

Had to add SRV's "Pride and Joy." Heard it while out this evening; it has to be one of my all-time favorites.

pig 04-15-2008 05:56 PM

Old 97's "Big Brown Eyes"....just a great damn song.

mixedmedia 04-15-2008 05:57 PM

Loretta Lynn - Fist City :)

JumpinJesus 04-15-2008 08:26 PM

Edith Piaf - Tu es Partout.

noodle 04-16-2008 02:50 AM

I added Michael, but I can't type... that's "ever" not "every". Good Morning. Ugh.

But seriously, I hope I never get satisfied with just "enough."

Martian 04-16-2008 02:58 AM

This is turning into quite the epic playlist.

Arcade Fire - Wake Up

Good morning, indeed.

mixedmedia 04-16-2008 03:08 AM

Thanks to roachboy, I LOVE Arcade Fire :)

Beck - Devil's Haircut

...roachboy?

mixedmedia 04-16-2008 04:43 AM

Well, yes, he introduced me to their music one night while we were in chat...I'd never heard of them before. He posted a link to the video for 'Rebellion (Lies)'. And it is thusly so that I started to collect their music. :)

jewels 04-16-2008 09:46 AM

Posted an old Dixie Cup song. We call this girl that comes around Iko and it reminded me.

roachboy 04-16-2008 01:10 PM

hooray for me!

almost as if to dissipate that sort of thing, and because i am feeling particularly add at the moment, i added a track by the fabulously curious satanicpornocultshop.

infotainment: http://www.nunulaxnulan.biz/satanicpornocultshop.html

a curious and most excellent japanese band.
sadly, i couldn't find their version of "candy says" which is just too excellent words nearly fail o yes.

ring 04-17-2008 08:38 AM

Esoteric 04-17-2008 09:33 AM

You're with Stupid Now by Aimee Mann

:p

Martian 04-17-2008 01:36 PM

I forgot to post earlier. Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners, by the Foo Fighters.

There's a fun story behind this track. During the Beaconsfield mine collapse a couple of years ago, the two trapped miners asked for an ipod with Foo Fighters songs on it. Dave sent down a message with the ipod that he'd dedicate a track on the next album to them and that when they got out they could have free tickets to a show. Ballad is the song that he wrote for them.

Esoteric 04-17-2008 01:41 PM

Hendrix baby.

ring 04-17-2008 01:44 PM

Janis next to Hendrix, feels correct.

Martian 04-17-2008 02:09 PM

And Dylan next to Janis.

mixedmedia 04-17-2008 02:17 PM

...and, natcherly, after Dylan comes Neil Young

noodle 04-17-2008 03:07 PM

neil can sit with eric johnson because i was having flashbacks and most people i know have no clue who the man is. he blew my mind live.

jewels 04-17-2008 04:17 PM

Eric was listening to my iTunes :orly: when it shuffled forward. I'd forgotten how enjoyable that song is.

Cynthetiq 04-17-2008 05:05 PM

Our kitty had to go to the vet... as I left for the office, I was a bit worried that he wasn't going to come back...

Jetée 04-17-2008 06:39 PM

I'll add a song(and then 67 more) when I get one to load fully, sos'n I can test the track's audio(some links are duds; also, my connection in this desert is trifling).

What I'd like for some to scrounge up is the originator of the that thread in "Found on the Net" that introduced the esteemed folk here at TFP to the excellent engine of search service that is seeqpod.

Plunder'd: Playable Music Search

As a favor, I "dug" up the treasure trove.

Baraka_Guru 04-17-2008 07:52 PM

Art Zoyd -- "Simulacres"

I'm just getting into this stuff, so I thought I'd share what's taking up my musical mind space right now.

paddyjoe 04-18-2008 03:16 AM

work is leaving no room to breathe lately, so I thought this old Rush tune would help....

sweet playlist so far!

roachboy 04-18-2008 12:07 PM

fela ransome kuti and his fantasitc big band.
in the fine form, fela smokes the place with this track.

this is a live, recorded in the early 1970s (i don't remember where).
before he became anikulapo.
either way, you can never have enough fela in your life.
one of the great bands in the universe, in my humble opinion.

let us start what we have come into the room to do.

we can begin by turning everything up.

Jetée 04-18-2008 12:11 PM

And I moved on to another:

Beck - Lord Only Knows

What is most difficult about selecting a song from an album is that most of those I own are so well-integrated, that it becomes a right giddy decision of choosing what feels right. Hopefully you agree.

DANNY FEDERICI
"Danny and I worked together for 40 years - he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much...we grew up together."
—Bruce Springsteen

Danny Federici, for 40 years the E Street Band's organist and keyboard player, died this afternoon, April 17, 2008 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City after a three year battle with melanoma.

The Federici family and the E Street family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. A web site for the Fund is being established and we'll post its link when it is on line.

Bruce Springsteen's concerts scheduled for Friday in Ft. Lauderdale and Saturday in Orlando performance are being postponed. Replacement dates will be announced shortly.
He played the keyboard on these two songs and was incredible on both... Hungry Heart and

Hmmm...I didn't read your post cyn about your choice of songs...but I guess mine is oddly appropriate.
