I have also seen him live a few times...man, he puts on a good show. His musical genius never fails to astound me, plus he has a great sense of humor. The Eminem interview was hilarious, and on that same show, they played the clip of BOB and it was awesome to see all the palindromes.
|
I love wierd Al! I saw him in concert a couple years back, and I met him before the show. It was awesome!
|
He was supposed to have a concert here last night, but I got postponed cause there was a huge storm :-/
|
Weird Al has always been one of my favourite singers, I think the best song not yet mentioned is definately Gump.
|
Wierd Al's songs always make me laugh, my favorite is probally couch patatoe or that parody of michael jackson.
|
I used to be the biggest Weird Al fan ever. I had all his album, I watched his tv show and rented UHF on a regular bases.I love the interviews he did with Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Robert Plant for Al Music on Much. " Robert Plant/Bobby Plant/Let me be your/Psycho fan/" That and his own special version of Alanis Morrissete's Ironic video.
Bad Hair day is one of my first albums ever, and I love his polka medolies. I think it's cool that kids still listen to Weird Al, it gives you a very broad array of music, and teaches you not to take pop sensations to seriously. I wish I could play the accordian.... |
My friends' playlist is mostly Weird Al...and Cartman quotes.

Favorite weird al song "night santa went crazy" all time favorite....Been around forever and still makes me laugh my ass off everytime

It's not his funniest song, lyrically, but the music to "Nature Trail to Hell (in 3-D) off of his second album (3-D?) has stuck in my head since I was a pre-teen. Even though I haven't heard it in years, I can still remember the words and the music. It made light of the 'slasher' flicks that were common in the late 70's / early 80's.
"It's a homicidal maniac who finds a cub scout troop! And he hacks up two or three in every scene!" I'll have to download it now. |
My God that song is awesome...
|
Anybody ever see the mockumentary "The Compleat Al" which was itself a parody of "The Complete Beatles"? Has lots of his Dare To Be Stupid and earlier videos as well as some truly funny bits, like where he goes to visit Michael Jackson to ask permission to parody Bad.
One of the few 80's artists to stick around. Long Live Al! -Mikey |
I saw Weird Al open for the *gasp* Monkees.
It really should've been the other way around. I remember he had these monitors that would play goofy stuff between songs. the one thing was an interview with Springsteen in which he mumbles incoherently...ha. |
I just purchased Al's ' Poodle Hat ' cd . It is bound to be another Weird Al classic . I keep it keyed up in the car and try to memorize his songs on the 45 min. plus ride home . The 'Angry White Boy Polka ' and ' A Complicated Song ' are two of my personal favorites . I like to take my Weird Al cd's with me on trips because the whole fam damily can enjoy the song parodies . Even my 18 year old rap music loving son likes Al . Weird Al Yankovic is truly an artist for all ages .

Weird al is awesome. Get the new album "Poodle Hat" Good times. Very good times. Ive seen him in concert myself, and he just came back to my city, but 40 bucks was too much, sorry al. OH and UHF is awesome, my mom was an extra in that back in the 80's so thats why ive had this obsession for werid al. (UHF was filmed in Tulsa Oklahoma)
