The guess who I just saw thread
I think it's about time to have a thread where we get to gloat to the others about the concerts we have just seen, or will soon be seeing. To start it off, I just got back from seeing Bad Religion. Kick ass show. It's good to see that old guys can still rock hard.

I'm seeing Flogging Molly on December 7. That should be an awesome show.

We saw Jimmy Buffett a couple of weeks ago. I'm not a huge Buffett fan, but it was incredibly fun.

Last nite I had the great privilege of seeing and acoustic set with Jack Blades (from Night Ranger) and Tommy Shaw (from Styx) (and they were both in Damn Yankees with Ted Nugent). Dave's best friend is the manager at Wild Bill's (yeah its a country place but they get in shows that arent, other wise I wouldnt set foot in there lol) and he called us to tell us we had tickets waiting at the door for it.
It was MOST wonderful, and funnnnny, lord they were funny. They had acquired pictures of each other from the 80's and had them blown to make fun of each other. They were on stage for about 2 hours, it was great...I actually had a good time lol Kansas is playing there in a few weeks so Im going back for that, then Styx is coming back in January and has already said i WILL be there for that one lol I told him yeah as long as its not the night of the Manilow concert...which prompted a discussion on how jealous he and the other friend that works there, was that I got such good seats for that show lol

Just saw Muse. It was insanity. I thought I was gonna pass out by the second song, I had to beg random moshers for thoroughly warm bottled water, there was no escape from the crowd. After the gig I staggered a hundred meters to the nearest mart, purchased 700mL water and a large bottle of powerade, and immediately drank all of both. It was a good night.

balkan beat box. they were fun. that's all i can say about them.
cheb i sabbah, on the other hand, spinning a set of bhangra shot through with north african pop and dubstep in club that was built around the sound system--well, that i can't talk about because i dont really remember all that much beyond dancing like a fool for 3 hours, feeling like i was being pulled along by the selector, continually surprised, finding myself surfing polyrhythms... and that, comrades, is a fine thing. it's also a glimpse, for what it's worth, of why i find music in 4 that stays in 4 to be in the main boring. it's like a hollywood film that is made by someone who imagines you are too stupid to react for yourself, so you have to be pushed around. but no matter, i suppose. i prefer feeling like no matter, even as i am dancing.

Seeing Tool myself tonight! Going with a group of 40 (yes you read that correctly) people, so we should be able to more than hold our own against the tides of general admission. It's my second time going to a Tool concert and last time I was in the nosebleeds. I am really excited to be up close and personal this time around.

Well, just saw Metalica, Scars Over Broadway, Flowbots, and Apociliptica Friday night. Flowbots pretty much sucked. I swear their lead singer was cloned from the sweat off Emiem's left testicle. Scars was ok. All their songs sound pretty much the same. And they sound to crisp and clean live. I kept expecting someone to kick the CD player. Apociliptica was fucking amazing. Those fuckers know how to blow the roof off a place. And Metalica, well, it was everything I hoped it could be. 5 ancores. Fucking awesome.
