Camille - Le Fil
My friend brought this disc back from France. The artist's name is Camille and the album is Le Fil. Her style falls in somewhere around Feist, Sarah Slean and Bjork and it's the first album I've been really excited about in awhile.
It's very simple, mostly her amazing smokey voice, both singing and sampled, with a mellow groove and pure tone electronica interweaving throughout. It's very melodic, organic and quite beautiful. Don't be intimidated by the fact that she is singing in French because this music transcends language. Check it out! |
A friend of mine introduced me to KT Tunstall's Big Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. I can't stop listening to it.

Bjork - Gling-Glo
It's an import of Bjork singing Icelandic jazz tunes...or something. Not bad really...nostly good for its novelty value though. |
