Brad Delp, lead singer of Boston has died!!!
March 9, 2007
ATKINSON, N.H. --Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston, was found dead Friday in his home in southern New Hampshire. He was 55. Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Lt. William Baldwin said in a news release that there was no indication of foul play. "There was nothing disrupted in the house. He was a fairly healthy person from what we're able to ascertain," Police Chief Philip Consentino told WMUR-TV. Delp apparently was alone at the time, Baldwin said. The cause of death remained under investigation. Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday. More here: http://www.boston.com/ae/music/artic...p1=MEWell_Pos3 I was STUNNED when I read this:cry: I have seen Boston twice and they were phenomenal both times. The first time was during the "Third Stage" tour in their prime. I am beside myself in shock right now. |
This is shocking....I still listen to my old Boston stuff.
Only 55....:shakehead: |
This morning's news stated that Delp's death was a suicide; he'd hooked up his exhaust by hose into his house....
I just don't understand this state of mind, I guess. Two entertainers in one week chose to take their own lives. *sigh* |
I'm gutted. I remember the summer of 1976 when the first album came out, we were 14 at the time, my friend and I thought that you couldn't make a better record than that. The sound was as pure as you could get in those days.
And you know, we were right, it still sounds great 31 years later. God bless you Brad. And thanks for the music. |
oh man, bummer.
add another band to the list of "bands i will never see live, ever" |
Wow. That really sucks. What a vocal range, too... :(

This is the problem with necro'd threads like this. Idiots like me come along and think "holy shit, he was still alive?!" only to find out that no, he wasn't.
