Favourite Summer Songs?
Hey all,
So it's Summer in New Zealand and I'm compiling a summer playlist to play next weekend at our Christmas party  Here's what I got so far. Bout half of these bands are from NZ or Aussie so check em out if you haven't heard of 'em before. And yea... I have an extremely diverse taste in music

Summer - War
Summertime - Lots of people have done this song, but I like the Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald duet the best Summertime Blues - Eddie Cochran Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles Barefoot in Baltimore - Strawberry Alarm Clock The Warmth of the Sun - The Beach Boys (or, really, any of their songs - I just like this one in particular) Anything by The Ventures!! Wipeout - The Surfaris Misirlou - Dick Dale & His Del-Tones Sunshine of Your Love - Cream Mr. Blue Sky - ELO Blue Sky - Allman Brothers Black Water - Doobie Brothers Cheap Sunglasses - ZZ Top Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group (not really a suumer song per se, but it reminds me of summer when I was a kid) The Tide Is High - Blondie Rock Lobster - B-52s Fantastic Day - Haircut 100 Suddenly Last Summer - The Motels Dreadlock Holiday - 10cc Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard - Paul Simon Nothing But Flowers - Talking Heads I could name a lot more if I had the patience right now to go through all of my music files....but I just did that yesterday for another project. Hope you can use some of these, though. Have fun! And I don't recall CCR ever doing Brown-Eyed Girl...are you sure you don't mean Van Morrison?

Hmm... yea the version i've got of brown eyed girl sounds a lot like van morrison but it's not quite the same as the original. I think it's a mis-label aye.
As for what a summer song sounds like... I'm thinking anything kinda up beat, breezy... lazy sunday afternoon kinda stuff haha any song that uses a certain tremolo technique for the guitar. or.. well, anything that reminds you of summer. For the alice in chains song I put down, it actually describes winter but the bend in the intro really reminds me of summer anyway.
