Whatever the result, it looks like the trial, which begins on Wednesday, is going to be an interesting and unprecedented one. The judge who will be hearing the case, the Honorable Mr. Justice Mann, has already asked both sides whether they feel he should disqualify himself.

But why would he fathom doing such a thing, you might ask?

Why else?

He owns an iPod.

You can't copyrite the word "apple". I'm tired of everyone stealing from and trying to rip off apple. Case in point: Windows. And good luck finding a judge without an iPod.

No, but you can trademark it. I don't know how these things work in the UK, but in the US, the burden is on the trademark holder to "vigorously defend" their mark against infringement. A "diluted" trademark is worthless in the marketplace, and can result in claims against direct infringement being indefensible.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin better watch out... Paul McCartney and Ringo are coming for their baby...

This is ridiculous. The only reason this lawsuit should have any bearing is if people are getting confused between either brand. Tell me the last time you thought Apple Records had anything to do with computers and electronic gadgets.

This is how some lawyers make a living.
