99 Luft balloons -- to infinity...
An hour of '99 Red Balloons'?

If you could have one song played over and over again for an hour - what would that song be? I'm not sure I could narrow it down to one song... but it'd more than likely be something springsteen... probably Jersey Girl...

If I could have one video played over and over for an hour it would be November Rain by guns and roses
or Lay it Down by Ratt

I remember in 1986, when the Celtics won their 16th title (hmm, hasn't been one since then), WBCN played "We are the Champions" sixteen times in a row. I can't remember if I stuck it out through all 16 or not.
Also, I have a 3 year old, so frequent repetition of songs (and books) is very familiar to me. You said "If you could have one song played over and over again for an hour"; for me, it would have to be "If you had to have one song played over and over again for an hour". I don't have one yet, I'll report back.

So...for $35,000...some fine upstanding citizen chose to listen to one of the crappiest songs to have come out of 80's?
Now...correct me if I'm wrong, as I frequently am (just ask my daughter), but...couldn't he/she have just picked up a portable CD player, bought some 80's compilation CD or another, hit the repeat button, and been good to go? With a couple of bucks left over to pick a Members Only jacket, a pair of Le Tigre pants, and an Izod sport shirt at the thrift store?

"Ritual (Nous Sommes Du Solleil)" by Yes - but then they'd only be able to play it twice (and a bit)...

Bill... 99 Red Balloons was hardly the *worst* song to come out of the 80s...
I wonder if they will alternate between the English and German version or also play live versions (Nena is still popular in Germany).

I remember waiting at a car rental office when Elton John's "Circle of Life" first came out. The radio station playing on the PA played it five times in a row to celebrate its release. Had Dante been there, he would've been inspired to add another level of hell to his Inferno. Good grief.
If I had to listen to the same piece of music for an hour, I would choose <i>4'33"</i> by John Cage.

As to the video, I've heard that they're going to be alternating between English and German, although I don't know about covers or live versions.
