What music do you enjoy?

Well, I'm looking for some new music to listen to....I've been listening to quite a bit of classic blues and jazz here as of late....just trying to get a lil break from the good ol Missippi country and rock lol..

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-Will

i've been listening to and performing Jazz and Blues music for the lsat 10 years now. I love a lot of Rock especially bands such as Cream, Led Zepplin, classics like that.

I like Classical composers such as (sorry while I butcher spellings) Debussy, Bartok and Hendemeth.

I like certain hip hop artists, and strangely love DMX, i can't explain why.

I generally will enjoy any music that carries a significant amount of improvisation.

that's just me though ;)

There are more genres of music that I do listen to than I don't. The only thing I really don't like is Pop Country (Urban, McGraw, Faith Hill, etc.) and I'm not really into Ska. I can take death metal in very small doses.

I recommend the album Rabbit Fur Coat by Jenny Lewis (with the Watson Twins).

It has folk, country, and Southern gospel influences, and Jenny Lewis has a beautiful voice.

How can't you like Ska? I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to music. There isn't much I don't like out there. One genre I hate is this "Pop-punk" or "emo" stuff that all the kids are listening to. No talent there what so ever, and it isn't fun to listen to.
