Airport Snowremover
Ok, I work at the Airport and it started snowing heavily in the last few days. I noticed something strange on the farside of the airport when all of the snow were being kicked up and I figured it must've been your conventional snow remover. But when it finally came around to the taxiway next to Fedex Ramp, it wasn't your conventional snow remover, it was something completely different. It was slighty smaller than a 727 and it had 2 large gap between the driver's cab and 2 machinery, which I guess were applying anti-ice and de-ice.
Anybody know where I can find more information about those thing whatever it was called?

Keeping your airport up and running in bad weather is a giant concern for airport operation managers. Keeping both freight and passengers moving are a major concern; Vammas is the answer. Both of our lovely Vammas models, PSB 550H and the Vammas PSB 4500H can accomplish tasks minutes; when it takes other runway clearing equipment to do in hours. Vammas units also require fewer operators to “Git R Done” Vammas units are capable of plowing, sweeping and air blasting runway surfaces on the same pass. They can also operate offset to do wide areas in one pass. I think the Vammas PSB 5500H and the Vammas PSB 4500H are the two most versatile runway maintenance units produced today. That looks similar
Why the different design? I can understand the need for bigger equipment to handle taxiways but couldn't they have gone with a semi-trailer truck with a large plow?

It's the logic that planes are big, like huge tires big performance moters.... so they need big snow plows to show how big they all are?
Really I have no clue either, other than it might work faster, or have some special ability with that center peice that makes it more appealing. |

What he said. Think of the costs of runway downtime.
