ASE exam study materials
I have a question for the people who've taken the exams. Have you used any of the study guides available and how useful did you find them? I'm looking to complete the car/light truck series over the next year or so. And I need to find study guides that will be useful and cover enough information to fill in the areas that don't really have enough experience in right now.
I've already passed the engine repair, brakes, and electrical tests. But I didn't use any of the study guides available. I have enough experience in those areas and do those jobs often enough that I passed those exams. I'm thinking about the steering & suspension and engine performance tests next spring. I'll probably be able to squeak by on those two based on the kinds of detail I've experienced with previous tests. The rest of the tests left I don't do very many of those jobs or really tear into transmissions and heating/AC problems to pass without having more material to read and study from. Thanks for any pointers anybody can give me. |
You can get the study books right from ASE. Most of them are not that hard if you do any of the work that the test covers. You could prolly go to the library and get enough info from books there to pass the tests also.
