It was time for a new car last week

To start, I was driving a 99 Honda Civic si, and loved it. The problem was that it had a ton of miles on it, and after a recent move I'm now driving 80 miles a day to get to work and back home. I was gonna wait a few months and buy either a Mazda 3S 5 door or a new Civic. Since all the damn car companies were running family plan and cash back I decided to go out and look around sooner than what I wanted to. Basically, I ended up buying a Ford Focus. And I'm a die hard Honda man, but for the price I got it for I realized I would never get a new Civic or a Mazda 3 anywhere near that price so I made the sacrifice because after I'm done with a car it's nearly worthless due to all the miles I drive so it just doesn't make sense to buy something expensive. It's good on gas, and it was cheap so I can't complain. The sticker price of the car was $18125, and after all the rebates and a dealer screw up I got it for $12565. It's a 5 speed, air, power everything, cruise, tilt wheel, and a few other options. Basically, all the things you need in a car. Next spring I'm gonna have to get some rims for it because I just don't like the factory wheels.

I don't want to rain on your parade, its a cool little car, my gf and I have driven her 01 ZX3 around a lot, but it has had an awful lot of recalls. Be sure to go to fords website and check out anything that hasn't been done to it.

just some points of reference

I've always liked Focuses. I like the older ones a lot, 02-03, especially the SVT.

As for rims, I wouldn't get anything too over the top, seeing as it is an otherwise unmodded Focus. Get something that looks like it could be factory made.

The 2003 SVT Focus wheels would probably look pretty cool on there.

I also always liked the rims that came on the older Acura Integras. They'd look good on there probably.

Just a few ideas.
They also make them in white, black, and chrome.

A Ford Focus saved my life.

I was in a bad accident in my '03 sedan (GMC Suburban T-boning me going 50mph) and was able to walk out of the car with only minor injuries.

Besides that, the Focus was the most fun of any car that I ever had. I don't know how the new ones are, but mine had both a smooth ride and great handling. Enjoy your baby focus...she'll treat you well.

Definitely looks better that that Scion Box back there. I like the new Focii. I'd consider that or a Crown Vic from Ford...that's it. The newer Focii have gotten pretty reliable, and recalls are not as big an issue with the new cars. Good luck with it...I like those wheels, too.

The Crown Vic is the new Pinto. It'll blow up in a read end collision.

Like DEI37 said most of the recalls were on the older '00, '01 Focii. The new Focii are pretty reliable.

I like it man. Congrats on the price too.

Not according to all the court cases people have been losing to Ford on that issue.
And things tend to blow up if they are rearended by a drunk doing 90.
