How many miles do you drive per year?

As of Feb 14, 2003, I averaged 38,681 miles per year. I'm just curious as to what y'all drive on the average.

Spyder_Venom 04-20-2003 09:01 AM

Too many..... 35k a year-ish

sixate 04-20-2003 09:08 AM

I'm right around 20k a year. Usually a little more.

Zotz 04-20-2003 09:29 AM

I'm a little over 20,000 per year too. Damn, that's a lot of gas.

MyFakeAccount 04-20-2003 10:57 AM

damn, I have a commute of 50 miles one way, and I travel a lot. I thought I was average.

tommyboy 04-20-2003 01:05 PM

around 20k a year

3x0 04-20-2003 02:05 PM

I do around 20.000 a year. Depends really on where i travel when i have longer breaks from school.

laconic1 04-20-2003 05:41 PM

The past couple of years I have only put about 6,000 a year on my car. I've put 58,000 miles on my car since I bought it seven years ago so that averages to about 8300 miles a year. Of course I've lived pretty close to school and work during that time, the longest commute I had was 14 miles each way going to community college.

kipperoo3 04-20-2003 08:49 PM

I put around 25000 a year on my car. I don't know where it comes from though! I put about 4000 a year on my cycle, which is actually a lot for just driving around town.

evo_schen 04-20-2003 10:07 PM

too damn much, i bought my car new may of 2000, as of now, i have 75k miles

billege 04-21-2003 03:58 AM

I got my Lancer (new) last September, now I have 11k. I'm hoping to use the bike a lot this summer and stay out of the car.

RaDiAn 04-21-2003 04:24 AM

20,000-25,000 just on my owe vechicle.......So far this year I already drove 2000 w/rental for work and I'm off again this week for work!

wraithhibn 04-21-2003 11:16 AM

I usually pull about 12K, but I dont drive that much since I'm in college, just 2.5 hours home and back every few weeks.

troit 04-22-2003 09:30 AM

I'm at 20K - 25K per year, which includes a few trips back Upstate to visit family...

thadon 04-22-2003 09:44 AM

On Dec. 10th 2002 I picked up my 2003 Dakota Quad cab and I now have 11,100 miles. So it looks like I'll have over 33k when I hit the year mark. I have two trips to FL in May and will go to FL again to visit the future inlaws around Nov. and Dec. And I might drive up to IL in July. Hell I might hit 45K in a year. DAMN

DEI37 04-24-2003 04:30 PM

I see I'm above average, but I can't imagine driving 45,000+ miles a year. That's a lot.

BoCo 04-24-2003 05:49 PM

I've had my car nearly 8 years and it has ~115,000 miles on it. That equals out to about 14,000+ miles a year.

splck 04-24-2003 06:28 PM

around 25k a year. used to be around 40k a few years ago.

Peetster 04-24-2003 06:40 PM

about 33,000 miles. But they are hard, DC miles. Tuesday it took me 2:40 to get to work. Today was a breeze, 1:55 to get home. This traffic sux.

lt1s10 04-24-2003 10:39 PM

Woah. Looks like I'm on the low end. Almost 130,000 miles on my truck in 10 years. So ~13,000 a year. It seems like I spend a lot of time in my truck to me. Guess not really. The other part is I live on an island so there isn't really too far to drive.

liquid_dreams 04-25-2003 08:52 AM

i'm about 35,000 a year i do a ton of road trips with my friend so that dose not help

mykockle 04-25-2003 09:15 AM

cripes i work from home... so the only time i seem to drive more then 20 miles at a time is when i go out of state to visit friends

SweetVroom 04-25-2003 12:37 PM

22,000 for the sedan, and around 7200 for the sports coupe/convertible.

zf0enix 04-25-2003 02:23 PM

Since I put over 600/week just to get to work and back home (not including travel for work), over 45k is expected.
