3 New Cars for '07 [Ferrari, Infinity, Lamborghini]

2007 Ferrari 600

Quote:
Ferrari will replace the 575 Maranello with a variant of the 612 Scaglietti, which could retain the Maranello name or go by the new moniker of "Imola." Either way, the Ferrari 600 will be an exceptionally powerful car, with a 6.0-liter version of the Scaglietti's V12. This lethal engine is expected to yield as much as 580 to 600 horsepower. This engine will be paired with a clutchless manual transmission. In addition to engine strength, the 600 will also improve its interior room and luggage space over the current Maranello. Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari 600 will be built on a shorter version of the Scaglietti's aluminum spaceframe chassis and also use the 612's front/midengine layout. The 600 should weigh in close to the Scaglietti at roughly 4,000 pounds. When it debuts in the spring of 2006, the Ferrari 600 will feature an MSRP somewhere in between the F430 and the Scaglietti.

2007 Infiniti GT-R

Quote:
After years of rumors and intense lobbying by Nissan enthusiasts in the U.S., Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn announced that his company plans to release a fully redesigned version of the legendary Skyline GT-R by 2007. The new version will take its cues from the GT-R concept car that has made the rounds at various auto shows over the past several years, and unlike its predecessor the GT-R will make its way to the U.S. With the 350Z already occupying a steady spot in Nissan's lineup, look for the GT-R to come Stateside wearing an Infiniti badge. A prototype caught testing on Germany's grueling Nurburgring test track made the rounds wearing a modified G35 shell, but obvious signs of modifications indicate it was no ordinary Infiniti. The car is expected to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in the fall of 2007 and go on sale later that year.

2007 Lamborghini Gallardo

Quote:
The 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo, which will share its chassis with the Audi Le Mans, will feature a couple of minor updates from the standard version of the vehicle when it goes on sale in 2006. The company will be making some changes to the Gallardo's air intake, although we shouldn't expect anything nearly as radical as can be found on the Lamborghini Concept S. The 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo will also likely be available as a roadster, in the same vein as the Murcielago, and the vehicle's current 5.0-liter V10 could have its horsepower bumped up into the 550 range.

The Ferrari is too far from production looks (in my opinion) to form an opinion on looks, although it ought to be wicked fast.

The Infiniti is ugly, looks way to boy racer-ish. Will most likely be a disappointment, in my opinion.

The Lamorghini looks sexy. They usually do. That's another one that will go like heck, too.

yuck on the ferrari, not that sexy to me, looks a little TOO much like the 612.

the infinity looks like a bolt-on front bumper and rear spoiler, Infinity should be up to better standards than that

the Lamborghini is sexy, i agree, i like the subtle changes they made

the nose of the car on the lambourghini bugs me a bit, but its still hot. For some reason I do feel more attracted to the looks of the infiniti than the ferrari.

The body kit on the G35 honestly looks like it could be made out of cardboard.

The Ferrary looks sweet. I liked the Scaglietti a lot except for the weird shape on the sides, and it looks like they've taken that off this one.

I have a question. Why do test cars look so rubbished up? I can understand using thick paint or paper to hide details, but they always look like they've just been driven through a mud hole or something. Or maybe they have? Part of the test - offroad?
