Well, there's a considerable difference here... People tend to buy an Evo BECAUSE they are going to mod it and race it or push it performance-wise. Of course Mitsu is going to deny a claim for trans issue when you replace the clutch. So would GM, Ford, BMW, MB, and probably every other car manufacturer.
Yes, it does have to be directly related. There is zero verbiage in the warranty contract that states an unrelated modification will void the warranty. And a warranty cannot be voided carte blanche due to one modification. Say I swap out my gas cover for the alloy one (I plan to). If the paint around it starts to peel. I'm shit out of luck. However, if after that change, my power steering dies, they cannot, under any reasonable terms, deny me service. |

Alright, I plan to get my windows tinted in the next week or so. It looks like I'll get Solar Gard HP Smoke 35 on all windows. State law allows darker on rear windows, but I like the uniform look of only hitting up one shade. How is this tint? I've seen mostly good news about it from various forums, but I'd like more input. I wanted to go with HP True Grey, but nobody locally seems to carry it.

You want to make your car look nice? Instead of your stock lights, put echo lights in (Im not sure if thats spealt correct sounding is with a long e), you could also add some running lights for the bottom and some vinyl could look really nice on it...depending on what color it is. I have found that a nice color of dark blue sure does look spiffy on a white car. If looking good isnt enough and you want to make it sound real pretty, then FLO Master is what you need my man.

Maybe lower it just a tad bit, to give it a nice stance. Some new rims would be cool, but stick to 5 spokes, and something conservative looking. Something that looks like it could come factory but still look cool. Nothing too outlandish or tuner looking.

The 06 Eclipse is a nice GT coupe.. Congrats.
If it were up to me, I'd focus on suspension and tires. Preserve a decent ride quality, but increase grip and reduce understeer. Within a few months, the guys at Progress Suspension will undoubtedly have lowering springs and struts available. A 2" drop with a set of 17" SSR Competitions will do nicely IMO. |

TINT YOUR WINDOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another thing that may help is a strut tower bar, better brake pads (which you mentioned), maybe some high performance spark plugs and wires, K&N intakes/filters generally don't void warranties and always yield good results.
