Car Auction?
I have been without a motorized vehicle for about three months now (I sold my motorcycle) and I have been riding my bicycle everywhere. Yeah, it's really fucking annoying if I really need to get somewhere fast, or if it's raining. I have about 2000 buck to spend on a car (or small truck) and I thought it would be good to check out a car auction. Does anyone here have any tips or suggestions for buying cars at auctions?

I can give you advice on what NOT to buy........
don't buy anything foreign that's not Japanese it costs way too much to repair if it breaks down when compared to how much you paid for it I have a lot of experience in buying $2000 or less cars because my parents never bought me a car so I had to buy them all my self. Get a Chevrolet, Ford, or Honda. Trust me on this one, they are cheap as hell to get repaired bought a 1985 BMW 318i on a whim once for $1000 and spent $2000 over the course of a year in repairs. Something that costs $100 on my old Chevy Cavalier to fix would cost $400 on a BMW or a Volvo. Rip off. Sorry about not knowing much about auctions though.

Unfortunately, good cheap cars are hard to come by at auctions. As mentioned, the ones that the public can actually go to will be chock full of dealers, and they will bid up to anything they think will make them a profit, which almost anything worth putting on a lot will.

Step 1: register at an internet site
Step 2: dig up a 3 year old thread slightly related to what you're plugging. Step 3: Insert a link into your post disguised as your signature. Step 4: Get banned by a bored admin. Step 5: never come back. Hmm, we somehow skipped the "profit" part. Ah well. Bear Cub, maybe he bumped a conversation piece for you, though.
