Me & My car - a road trip photolog
I just completed a 3600+ mile round trip to Maine from Sarasota. The trip up was all haul-ass getRdone but on the way home I took as many scenic routes as possible.
Anyway, since it was just me and my car, the car wound up in a lot of the pictures. These were all taken between Maine and North Carolina but most of them are from the Blue Ridge Parkway and specifically the Skyline Drive in Virginia. I did over 300 miles of the Parkway on Friday. It was simply awesome. Indescribable. There are lots more pictures but since the is the Tilted Motors portion of TFP and the only sub-forum here I haunt on a regular basis, here are my favorite car pictures from the trip. http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4273274c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293300c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293305c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293315c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293318c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293325c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293328c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293329c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293338c.jpg Self-portrait! http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293342c.jpg http://techquarium.com/gallery2/main.../P4293350c.jpg |
Cool stuff. I particularly like the one pic of the NSX behind the trees...the third pic. Makes the car look like it's "hiding" just waiting to pounce on something. Fun stuff.

Personally, I like the last picture best. The reflections make it seem as though it's melting into the landscape.
And though I'm sure I need not say it, the car is beautiful in of itself. |
That's the fuckin' life, man. Love it.
|
wierd, even wierder is that you look like my uncle tony...
|
* that view in pic #2 is amazing...

That is so cool. Must have been fun.

I love driving that route, i was just there last summer, good times
|
nice pictures. were the roads that empty or did you have to wait for cars to pass?
one day i'll like to take a trip like that. |
I need to find those roads, they look like a lot of fun.
Good photography and those are some stunning views. I love road trips. |
That looks like it was a great road trip. I wish I still had the time to do road trips. In college I'd just take the long weekends and pick a direction. Go to see what there was to see.
The photos are great looking. I really like the last picture. |

This is the Blue Ridge Parkway, a limited access road where no commercial vehicles are allowed (no 18-wheelers! Woo Hoo!!!). I spent 10 hours going over 300 miles and never once had someone run up on my ass or found myself behind someone else. When I pulled over to take pictures or just gawk at the scenery I would occasionally see a car go by but not that often. I saw more deer than other cars. It was wonderful. Now, I'm sure in the summer there's more traffic but just keeping the trucks off and the fact that 'intersections' where you can get on and off the road only occur every 20 to 40 miles should keep it nice. I would love to do it again in better weather. |
Awesome pictures, awesome car.

Excellent pics, thank your for posting.
I think the NSX will be a real future classic. rcr |
The picture around the curve is awsome & the one with the valley below! I'm sure you enjoyed the route home. Hey thanks for sharing...

Great pics man, i love the last one. The trees in the background and the reflection off the winshield and hood in insane.
The third one from the botton is also great. I like how the terrain slants downward and you can also see part of the road in the back. great pics |
