The vehicle is sweeeet, but the autonomous control for 175 miles is the tough part.

well, all methods of propulsion have their limitations, tires go flat, wheels warp, nothing's perfect. It is pretty great to see all these teams working together toward a common goal. Like DDDDave said, it's the navigation that's difficult, both in the large "where the hell are we going" area and the smaller "I didn't see that giant hole" area.

but tracks will reduce ground pressure and also enable the vehicle to turn on a dime. All trade offs.

I like that they designed it from the ground up to be passengerless, unlike the modified hummvees and trucks that some of the other groups were bringing in.
