Paint scratched but nothing done?
Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well. The wife recently scratched the side of the car - back door and rear quarter panel above the wheel well. It was scraped along an underground parking column. There are a series of parallel scratches running this length giving you an area of about 3 feet x 1 foot scratched up. Now, the original car colour is black, and this has been scratched up so that it is clearly white. In addition, there is some slight denting in the door and back panel which you can see if you look at it from the sides. Question - what to do? And do I actually need to do anything? Estimated repair costs from several body-shops puts it at over $1200 CAD and 2 days labour. That is a bit too much for us now. If I was to do nothing however, would it start rusting? (Given it is winter and there is salt everywhere?) Details: Black 2001 VW Passat GLS. Thank you kindly |

Can you take some pics? Hard for me to give an estimate without seeing the damage.
