BMW M6
BMW has been building the 6 series coupe since 1976, and the M6 since 1987.
The "M" in the name designates BMW Motorsport Division upgrades over the base 640, for the engine, chassis, suspension, price tag. 507 HP V-10 0-62: 4.6 sec 1/4 mile: 13.2 sec |

I don't like the new BMW headlights. But a V-10, sexy.

Bangle would have done a pretty good job on this one if he could've gotten over that hideous trunk design he loves so much. That, and the interior looks somewhat lacking in content while having too many bulges and weird shapes all over the place.
BMW was once about as good as it gets when it comes to understated, elegant, yet sporty designs. Now it's as if they're trying to be what Pontiac was a few years ago. Meanwhile Pontiac is now churning out cars so bland they make Toyotas look like Ferraris by comparison. Weird how things change so quickly. |

They used a very similar trunk design on the last 7-series. I'm not entirely sure I hate it, but I'm not certain I like it either. However, the rest ofr Bangle's stuff I'm quite the fan of. But let's not make this a Pro-/Anti- Bangle thread. The M6 is going to rock. For a car of it's size I really think the pre-occupation with 1/4-mile times has got to stop. what you're gonna get with this car is something that 3900 lbs (well, that's the curb weight of the M5...) and can run with the Supercars when it comes to grip, overtaking, acceleration, etc, but still fit the Golf clubs, baby carriage, and a weeks worth of luggage. Oh yeah, and you get the insane sound of the BMW V-10. I've heard it, it's like an orgasm in your ears....

Just wanted to add a few corrections and some additions to the history of the 6 series line from Bayerische Motor Werken.
1. The 6 series was introduced in 1976, but the M635CSi was introduced in 1983. The m635CSi was the first actual M6, as it were. 2. BMW discontinued the entire 6 series line in 1989. 3. The 2004 M6 is the first 6 series from BMW in 15 years after the unpopular 8 series was discontinued. I have always loved the lines of the 6 series and remember beautiful Maddy Hayes from 'Moonlighting' drove one as did bad ass Hawk from 'Spencer for Hire.' I fell in love with the lines of this coupe, the jutting nose, the frameless windows, and the elongated two door look. This 2004 incarnation doesn't quite do it for me...but who knows maybe it will grow on me. I think personally that the current M5 is a better package. -bear

BMW's are just absolutely fine cars.
I have a BMW 525i and absolutely love it. They new M5's are gorgeous, the M6's are gorgeous, the 6 series are gorgeous, the 7 series are gorgeous......sound like a broken record don't I. My friend John has a BMW M3 that we highly modified. Good stuff. Go see at http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=16568 More pics at: http://www.blurbco.com/~gork/carpc/

The m635CSi really is a fantastic looking car, and caught my eye back when BMW introduced it. Absolutely classic lines. Quote:

I like the styling and i would certainly take one if it were offered to me at a bargain price. Actually (never thought I'd say this) I almost feel like there should be more HP out of a BMW V-10. Whatever, I'll probably never have one in my garage anyhow...

the only thing i don't like about the new interiors is the heavy use of fake wood either you make it real at that price or stick with brushed aluminum or carbon fibor or somthing else along those lines.

I really do love the new BMWs; they drive absolutely excellent, the interiors are the best designs I've ever seen....but the outside really does not cut it for me. Its gotten to the point where their designs are not even fresh or new anymore, they are just recycling past designs. Look at the rear bumper, it looks like they ripped the front bumper of my '02 M3 and glued it on teh back of this car. The trunk looks like a parts bin part from the new 5s and 7s... I mean I still support the brand (I do have 5 BMWs in my driveway ATM...) But I dont see me buying any of these new cars. I would much rather buy another 87-88 M6 than this new one.

I almost got an older M6 a while ago, decided not to because of high miles. THe problem with the one in the picture is; in that color, the front/side shot kind of reminds me of the dodge magnum at a glance. I know it seems strange but if u stare long enough youll see what i mean,
