My work in progress

Far from finished, but I have a good deal done:
Honda CBR F3 600cc, lower compression pistons (9:1)
Aerodyne Aerocharger VATN Turbocharger 10psi
Custom Intercooler Endtanks and intake runners
Custom machined throttle body
Haltech E6A Engine computer
Zexel Torsen Differential Unit, custom housing.
Hayes Calipers, 2 outboard up front, with custom machined rotors
1 inboard rear caliper, custom machined rotor
Integrated wheel hub and rotor hat
Tilton pedal set, modified to fit
A yet to be completed pushrod activated suspension, though you got a good look at the a arms.

And here is the old bitch, the last one of these I helped build . . . this one being finished.

That is really cool! Looks like you really know what you're doing..... Fabricating parts isn't easy unless you are pretty sharp, and have all the tools..... looks like you have.

I'd kill to have a fuckin garage. Poor poor home buying decision.

Anways

That looks like it's going to be fun. How much time do you have in it and how much left before we see a blurry pic of you in zooming across the frame.

Im the team leader / head designer / CNC monkey boy at a University that participates in a SAE competiton. Lots of universities build these. Unfortuneatly, we have no funding so most of the stuff you see in those pics I paid for. Ahhh, the sweet scent of debt

The white car is geared for 100, does 0-60 in something like four secs. (its 650 pounds. its a big heavy bitch)

The yet to be completed car is geared for 80, should do 0-60 well under four, and should be 500 pounds in the end.

In the top pics you see the rain tires mounted . . . pointed in the wrong damn direction. Stupid custom grooving.

And as for racing goes, there is a large race in Pontiac Michigan every year. THe white car is from 2 years ago, the under construction beast is for the 2004 competition. All in all, next year will be my 4th year involved with innumerable hours spent designing. I fucking love it though, im going to miss the shop when i graduate.

Go Formula SAE teams! Yeah, my university puts out one of these and we don't get any funding either. We just look at the schools that do and think "I wonder what we could have done with that much money?"

Still, it's a cool process to see a pile of scrap turn into something that has 0-60 close to the high performance street cars.

I'm looking to do something with Ohio State's SAE team either my freshman or sophomore year. Badass little machine you got there.
