OMG Not Another One

Yet again they have taken this design and used it again.

Its the GTO all dressed up

There was no need to use this body again....but it does have the GM LS2 6.0L

I dont really like the body kit, mainly the new grill. All 3 of the 2 grill openings make the car look really dumb.

That front looks really bad..

Way too many vents on the hood.. Almost looks like a hotel with balconies of varying size.

I do like the back though. Spoiler looks fitting, and the tailights and exhaust are appealing to me.

Not sure about the little red light in the middle of the bumper though?

I really like the rear end alot. The front is less appealing tho, and would be nice with about 1/2 of the vents. And of course, the motor is a big plus.

The U.S. market car has fewer vents--I've seen it in Car & Driver already. I think it's great--and a huge surprise--that they kept the LS2 engine in it's Corvette tune. Usually they do something to reduce power in the cheaper car, but I guess it wasn't neccessary with the added weight. For a performance car, I'd pass on it, but I bet a lot of guys with kids will buy them for the power and back seats.

In fact, this isn't even the Pontiac GTO, so that's why the front and rear look so different from what we're getting.

The car pictured here is the 2004 Vauxhall Monaro VXR.

Here are the correct pics of the Pontiac (note the proper emblem).

What the hell is up with Pontiac's townhouse designer's club? The front of that thing looks like an Aztec, which looks remarkably like the apartments across my street, or an Escher rear-view caricature of a camel in heat. Ow.

id rather have the car in the vauxhall trim (minus the vented hood) just to have the cool badging. I have yet to see someone in the us with a UK spec vauxhall

current gto is basicly on the omega platform that the US saw as the catera... hell holden basicly built their current lineup around that platform but tweaked it slightly. the revised version of that platform is the sigma platform that cady is using for the cts, srx, sts and forth coming xts.

the buick roadmaster is the first car slated for production on the zeta platform for the 2006 calender year. the buick velite, GTO, Grand prix is scheduled for the 2007 CY. the Impala and Camaro for 2008 CY and the monte carlo in the 2009 CY.

also interstingly ford is looking to go ahead with their daisy platfrom for the 2006 CY. I guess the GT is doing well enough they think they can do a nother low volume platfrom.
