How close are you to owning your dream car?
So here I am, a freshman in college, and I'm already dreaming about the day that I'll be able to own the car of my dreams- a Porsche 911 Carrera.
I figure that a Ferrari or a Lamb is way out of my league but I think that if I work hard enough, I'll be able to get one some day. 1. What is your dream car? Porsche 2. Why? I've always loved the design and the fact that it turns heads. So yeah I'm an attention whore so what 3. How close are you to owning your dream car? College, dental school- and then I'll be set after a few years in practice, hopefully. So about 9 years give or take. 4. Do you honestly believe that it can happen? I don't see why not. Dentists make a lot of money, right? :-p |

1. Dream car? Toyata Supra Twin Turbo..APU+++ all the mods etc, I like the '95 in particular, altough that whole 3rd generation of Supra's are the same.
2. Why? Its a Supra..........Some of the fastest street legal cars are supras, ive seen them run 9 second 1/4 miles, and make over 1000hp. Soo sexy. 3. How close to owning? Not very, freshman in college, advertising... Maybe after a good number of years, if i can get into a firm or something than ya...but i want to be an automotive reporter so its pretty far away if i go that route. 4. Can I see it happen? Not likely soon, chances are that in 2007 when the Skyline comes to the US, i might change my mind. |

1. Porsche GT2
2. It is a wonderful culmination of decades of respected heritage and one of the most respected cars from one of the most respected car companies in the world. 3. I'm maybe 7 to 10 years if I stay on track. I already have somewhere in the neighborhood of 30% of the final cost already saved. 4. I sure hope so. If not, the money can always go towards my daughters Phd. |

Car Shelby Gt500 Eleanor Clone. I probably couldn't ever afford the real deal or be able to butcher a real shelby car to make an eleanor clone. Either I would have to pay for a very closely finished one, or make one from scratch, either way alot of work and probably about $50,000 to make one from scratch. My second dream car is a 1987 Buick gnx....lots of money also to own.

Um, I've got one of my dream cars.. however it's just sitting there awaitting a new engine and some more body work. It's an '86 Corolla GT-S coupe.. which may just get sold off to pay for parts for my other dream car when I get it this March. I'm looking at a mid 90's LS400/Celsior, the UCF20/21 models. Big ass slow VIP style ride.
So here's that fancy list thingy... Corolla 1. What? 1986 Corolla GT-S Coupe 2. Why? Last rwd Corolla, rev happy twincam engine, near 50/50 weight distibution. Very fun to drive car, and major cult status symbol. 3. How close to owning? I have one right now, with quite a bit invested in it, but don't drive it. 4. Do I believe it can happen? Sure do, I was honestly looking for an LS400, but I just had to own this when I found it. Now the LS400 1. What? 1995-98 Lexus LS400 or Toyotal Celsior depending on country. 2. Why? It's one of Toyota's top cars, basically a Benz clone that was better in almost every way. I love the big body look, the lines are very mature. A I'm a sucker for that tucked, slammed, blacked out VIP style. 3. How close to owning? Very close, my '88 Camry "Battle Wagon" is gonna die, the GT-S can make a me a nice profit and I need a newer car. So I will get one, it's just a matter of finding one. 4. Do I believe it can happen? Of course, it kinda has to happen or I won't have a running car. Plus, why not? |

I'm actually pretty damn close to owning my ideal car (note I didn't use the term 'dream car').
Just a '03 Ford Focus SVT. I'll be buying one as soon as I can find a nice used one in my area. Simply put, that's my ideal daily driver. I'll do a few mods to it, but for the most part, that car has everything I want in a car. Now if I was insanely rich and felt like buying some cars, my list might include a '32 Ford Tudor Sedan, '01 BMW M-Coupe, '69 Boss 428, and many others Most of those are pretty much out of the question, but when I retire and have some time, I want to build a '32 Tudor sedan or roadster. I think thats pretty possible, if the parts still exist when the time comes |

1. What is your dream car?
I've got several but I'll just list the top three. 1) Boss 302 Mustang 2) 1978 Corvette g-Machine with competle modern suspension setup and engine. 3) 200x Mopar pony car 2. Why? I'm a sucker for American muscle in all it's forms. The Boss 302 was possibly the most perfect example of a pony car I think think of. Fast could handle and looked wonderful. The 78 Vette because that was the year I was born, I love Vettes and they are the epitome of the American performance car. For 50 years Corvettes have been America's obtainable performer and ever since I was a kid I have liked them. 2000x Mopar pony car...this is just a rumor and I'm not sure if I'd even like it if they make it but the thoughts of a 400 horsepower 6.1 Hemi powered RWD 2+2 coupe that weighs in around 3400 lbs for around 28k would make my day. A perfect daily driver to enjoy during the week. 3. How close are you to owning your dream car? Well not that close but not as far away as I once was. Close to finishing up a degree so when I get a job in IT in 5-6 years I'll easily have the cash. The first may never be a reality as REAL Boss Mustangs are expensive and rare and a replica isn't really an option. The second depends on getting a house first as that little project would be time consuming it would be a complete frame off restomod. Disk brakes at the four corners, coil over suspension, 18 inch wheels,383 stroker or the new all aluminum LS7 if it would fit, T-56 tranny...so on and so forth. Basically I want a car with all the power and comforts of 2000 with the looks of the 78. The cars aren't that pricey and the mods aren't THAT expensive it could all be done for likely mid 30s which is cheaper than a new Vette but it would take a while to get it all just right. The Mopar pony car only depends on two things...Will they make it...will I like it. If both are affirmative THAT will likely be the one I'll have first. I want a modern day classic and I love the old school Mopars and with the new engines they have the best power potential and to become instant classics but if they screw it up I'll make do with a Special edition Mustang. 4. Do you honestly believe that it can happen? Yeah all of them can happen. None of my dream cars are going to be insanely costly some of them are going to be rare but I don't have the desire for the Lamborghini or the Ferraris of the world so at some point unless I become a complete fuck up in life which I'm not counting on I'll have at least two of the three and then I can move on to other things. |

2. I've always loved the looks. 3. It's parked in my garage. 4. It took me 27 years from when I first saw one to actually purchase one but the wait was worth it! The above comment about time and commitment, more so after you buy, really hit the nail on the head!!! I'm sure it has nothing to do with Lucas electronics though! |

My dream car is something that doesn't use gas yet still does at least 70 mph without clocking it with a calendar. I think we're a few years off on that one.

1. 2003 BMW M5.
2. I've seen less of these than I have Ferrari's, Porsche's, Lambo's, Vipers. Its a VERY fast car and is ungodly comfortable to drive. It was designed to cruise at 150mph all day. 3. I suppose I could have one right now if I dropped out of school. Realistically probably 6 or 7 years away before I would/could buy one. 4. I have complete confidence that I could own one some day. By then though, the V10 M5 will be out...

1. What is your dream car?
the new Porsche Carrera GT; I love lots of high performance cars, but that's my latest love fantasy. 2. Why? the design, both aesthetically and functionally 3. How close are you to owning your dream car? unlikely that I'll ever own one of those; too rare, too expensive, will never depreciate into my budget range 4. Do you honestly believe that it can happen? not unless I hit the lottery or come into an inheritance. I don't buy lottery tickets and I have no rich relatives. But it's really not too bad even if I just keep what I have and develop it further which is what I'm doing. I have a '95 Supra turbo - BPU (= basic performance upgrades, so it dyno'd 435rwhp/455rwtq) and it even made it on somebody's list! It is an awesome vehicle, even more so than most people will ever know unless you've driven it a lot on various race tracks. I do that a few times a year. Failing that i'll wait till i'm just about to die and then sell my house and there you go, live the last year in that.

Which is the problem I'm having now, I can't even decide on a $25K car! There are just too many good choices!
