Toyata help needed.
Google was not my friend today.
I purchased a 1992 Toyota pickup "basket case". I have the long block rebuilt and am almost ready to install it. Unfortunalely, I cannot determine that how the alternator, smog pump ect are mounted. If anyone has a pic on how the pulley routing, bracket mounting and idlers go I would appreciate it. My new Chiltons is also not my friend. What a waste of $20. Thanks in advance. |
Well, if you googled it as above I can understand Google not helping! ;-) Wish I could help, but alas, I've never owned a Toyota truck. Had a friend in high school that probably could have told you off the top of his head but that doesn't help much now does it? Good luck with it. There used to be a lot of these trucks built up as show trucks and they would take tons of pics of them. Maybe googling "1992 Toyota SR5 (or whatever the model was then) show truck" would get you some hits.

toyota's online factory service manuals. you can get a per day subscription for like $10 i think and download pdf files. If you have a good internet connection you should be able to get an entire fsm in less than a day. |
Well finding pictures is tough. I remember trying to find pics or an Air Conditioning Eliminator for my mustang. (pics on actually how it mounted) took me about a month to actually find pics. I would find the exact model of engine and then search, and then find some toyota forums, you would easily get a correct answer in a hurry.
Just Thought of Something Go to www.cardomain.com I found some trucks of around the same year on there but no engine pics, maybe you can find someone that owns a similar truck and they can take and email you some pics. |
if you need technical advice about any toyota pickup - you can check 2 places.
1 is www.4x4wire.com - check their toyota forum for endless information 2 is www.pirate4x4.com/forum - these guys are hardcore rock crawlers so youll need some thick skin when asking some quesitons but they -will- have answers for you. good luck! |
you can also check out the forums on www.tacomaterritory.com they just changed their web site around, so just look around for the forum link

be careful on ttora. they are not as savvy with older toys. sure there are a few smart guys over there, but for the most part its folks who know their tacoma's. leave the older toy trucks to someone else.

Search in the Toyota Pickup forum on this topic first. If that doesn't work, post the question in a new thread. There are a lot of very knowledgable and nice people on that board. |
