it's nice, the type-S is pretty quick... 15.2 in the 1/4. 200 hp. that's good for just over $23,000. my only thought is that it's kinda small. it depends how much space you need in the way of trunk and back seat...

Tex and Tech? Weird.
Regardless, I am the very proud owner of a black '03 RSX Type-S and an unequivocal supporter of the car. It is SO much fun to drive, has definite balls and is quite comfortable. If you are interested in modifying your car, this is a great car to start with. Because the car is new tuners are still learning more about it but it seems to have unlimited potential. The bottom line is that this is a car that has fantastic luxury and performance for the price (I love it when people ask me "that thing got a V-6 in it?"). 6-CD changer, all leather, 6-speed, Formula-1 derived motor that gets 100HP/liter (few other non-turbo cars come close) 31 MPG and is LEV (low-emission vehicle) certified. It's in Car and Driver's Ten Best perenially and it has one of the Ten Best Motors. Also, because it is an Acura it comes with Acura Total Roadside Assistance - they've mapped road trips and towed me all for free, I just call a phone number. I could go on and on. Write me back if you have questions. What other cars are you looking at? Also, a good resource is clubrsx.com. The forums are HUGE and filled with fanatics. |

Tex,
Why not just get the TL or CL?? They have an Invoice at 27K and you get more car for your dollar. Either way any Acura you purchase is a great buy as they are low maintenence, they don't depreciate as most vehicles do, and are very safe.

I am currently saving for a Black RSX Type-S. I've done a lot of research about the price and basically everything about the car. Hell, I am having dreams of driving this car. I know it's the RSX because I recognize the interior. How bad is that?!?
BTAC: Mind if I ask what you paid for your RSX and what options you got? I'm going for the underbody spoilers, foglights and a few other accessories. As for buying a CL or TL vs. the RSX, BTAC is right. Those cars are very nice, but they don't have the fun factor of the RSX. When I get older, I'll buy one of those.. or maybe even a TSX. Best of both worlds between an RSX and TL. |

I had a White Type-S and I LOVED it. Damn divorce! I would reccomend one in a heartbeat, the only thing it needed was better tires, nothing too extreme just not the all-weather gumballs that came stock on it. Install an intake and get ready for a killer sound, not whiny or weak but deep, kinda like a VW VR-6 (surprisingly). Just wait until it goes on the Vtec cam @ 4500 rpm. It's not going to add all the horsepower, but it sure sounds sweet!

I think I paid like 23k, and I didn't get anything. Personally I think the fogs are kinda ugly and I liked the vents more. The body kit looks REALLY cool though, and I kinda wish I had gotten it (I might still). The cargo net is useful and if it snows as much in WI as it does in Massachusetts you'll appreciate the all weather mats.
Something to realize when purchasing the Type-S is that it's capabilities are out of this world. It has one of the most sophisticated motors in any car, and the fact that it is in a car that costs less than $25k is amazing. Read Car And Driver in the next couple of months - look for an RSX modified by a company called "Hytech". |

for the same amount of cash, you could get a used wrx, or for just a grand more ( msrp is like 24ish ) you could hop into a new one. I love my wrx, and the only thing thats making me get rid of it is the fact that my local dealership finally got the wrx sti's in ( 300hp/300tq ) amongst other goodies, which is why in less than a month i will trade mine in.
Get a subaru wrx. You were born to drive this car ( and its not to shabby on the speed either. AWD, 0-60 in under 6 secs, and the 1/4 mile in 14.4ish. With 2-5 grand invested ( trust me i know ) this 4 door rally car becomes a 0-60 in 4ish seconds and pulls 1/4th mile times of under 12 seconds ( high 11's ). It can be pushed further, but i havent enough time before my trade in to see what it can do. At least give it a chance. I garuntee youll like it 1000 times more than a rsx-s. |

The RSX is nice, and not to mention a major upgrade from the Integra. When my friend was looking, we had his choice from a WRX and an RSX. He went with the WRX and doesn't regreat it one bit. Once you take a WRX for a test drive, you melt. IT HAS SOOO MUCH POWER!!! I love it when the turbo kicks in at 3000 rpms. I can't wait till I have the cash for one. and now the Sti has 300 hp.... 0-60 in 4.9 sec!!!!!!!!!

The only other car I would consider would be the WRX. I haven't had a chance to test the WRX, but I just like the looks of the RSX so much better. I won't argue that the WRX has more power than the RSX-S. I see a lot of WRX's on the road and they are not bad-looking cars at all, but I just prefer the look of the RSX.

True, ive seen some rsx's that look awful nice ( lowered silver one on black rims with a 8 story wing that just somehow "fits" the car ( i hate these types of wings, but on this car i must say id do it the same way ). The wrx offers things like awd, and a turbo stock that just set it apart from other cars. The hood scoop gives you an aggressive feel from inside the car peering over it, and there are many many mods, not to mention it sounds different than other cars ( it has the boxster "rumble" ).
Anyhow, whichever you choose im sure you will be super satisfied, as the rsx has won awards as well as the wrx. p.s. the only reason a sunroof isnt an option is because it compromises the foam filled "roll cage" that makes the car super stiff which results in super low body roll ( for a stock car i must say its very tight around any and every corner and slow to insane speeds ). Installing a sunroof would cut out a huge section of the top roof's crossmember support. :/ |

I personally do not like Front wheel drive. For about the same price you can get a Subaru WRX
