want to relocate battery to trunk.
So i want to relocate my battery to the trunk just in case i ever get boosted (400+ whp on stock internals woot) or have more intake options. Anyways, what gauge should I use or what gauge can I get away with? I have a nissan maxima, 2000, and i think the stock wiring is 4 awg. Any recommendations (other than don't do it?)

I would use 2ga at the least. Within reason, the heavier it is, the better you'll be.

Yeah what i'm using on my mustang is 2 gauge, when I helped my roomate relocate his we used 2 gauge also. Then just get a heavy power distribution block for car audio usually works pretty good for splicing it into the factory wiring. Also make sure you find a good ground and make sure everything under the hood is grounded good. You'll be amazed how much redoing some of the factory grounds helps. Also I would recommended getting an Optima or an Optima style battery since they don't gas as bad.

Get a battery box too. You don't want that thing leaking into your trunk if it decides to die on you.

One other thing that SOO many people seem to look over. Use a gromet where ever there is a sheet metal edge aginst the power wire (such as when you drill through the floor pan to get it 'under' the car). Also any where it will rub, use conduit or something to protect the wire. Depending on your state, it may or may not be an issue - but one thing is for certain, the last thing you want to happen is for that thing to ground itself to the frame.
