The new Chevelle HRSS concept

Pretty much this is a concept chevelle made from the new GTO, the company can't really call it a chevelle since GM owns the rights they call it a HRSS, This comes in a 454 option that comes pushes 600hp...heres the specs of the 454 model from their website:

Quote:
The HRSS454 is based on the C5-R all aluminum, 5th generation Corvette racing block. It also features LS6 based heads, Wilson intake manifold, and a 10.7:1 compression ratio. Exclusive to the HRSS454, it will be capable of delivering a massive 600 horsepower and 600 ft/lbs of torque. Specifications are subject to change based on availability of components. Specifications can also be changed to fit your own needs and personal taste. I like the rear end, but for 135 grand they should give it a better looking front and some better proportioned wheels

It's an interesting idea, especially since the only real weakness with the new GTO is its ho-hum styling.

I like it from the windshield back, but that front clip really needs help. Maybe a larger, single headlight that follows the angle of the grille, and less of a square-jawed look. Maybe they figure it'll go so fast that no one will ever get a good look at the front, anyway.

Yeah, I really don't like the front end. Other than that, it's quite a radical car.

i also agree that the front looks a little weird, I mean what's with the Avanti headlight "eyebrows"? The rear looke really good and 600 HP is awesome, but for that $$ I'd get a new Ford GT (and I'm not even a Ford guy!).

With the exception of the front, it's perfect. For some reason, the front gives me the impression that it's trying a little too hard to look like a Bentley

I was expecting better, the back looks alright, but the front is just a clusterfuck. I agree Mr.SelfDestruct it might just be trying a little too hard to look like a Bentley

These threads are rapidly turning in to the "Detroit is out of ideas" variety. I like the throwback styles but I think this one is really ugly.

Still waiting to see a new 'Stang on the road.

Yea it does remind me of a Chevelle. The rear end for the most part.

I'm not to fond of the front end either.

The red with black stripes is what make it look Chevellishness the most.

It looks like the designers started at the back of the car, then ran out of money and/or got really hammered by the time they got to the front clip. Not only does it look like a Bentley+Cadillac CTS ripoff, but the fit & finish looks terrible.

Cool car otherwise, though!

Apparently it takes more talent then I thought to combine a new car styling and an old car. I am sorry, but that car looks too pieced together for me. Its just not fluid enough, you can almost tell the new parts from the old(inspired) parts.

I think the car is ugly as sin. The whole new-age retro look doesn't work for me. Specs are nice as hell, but won't Mustang Saleen be more powerful?

Since it's a concept, there's always time to improve the nose at least.

There isn't a single thing on the car I like. I would prefer to put the $135k toward the Ford GT.

I love the idea of bringing the Chevelle back (it's absolutely my favorite muscle car) but this is not it.
