I thought that show lost a lot when Tiff left. I loved his test drives. We don't get Top Gear in the States (to my knowledge), but I have a bunch of episodes downloaded. My favrorites are Tiff's first test drive of the McLaren F1 and his M5 test drive in the pouring rain where he does a full 360 and keeps going (on purpose).

Fantastic clip - what a great show, Top Gear. You can tell these guys really love cars. The car shows here suck, for the most part.
"The gap between this car and the Mercedes Benz SLR is as wide as the gap between Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard." OUCH!! |

First time ever seeing the show, if not for the hosts and the commentary I would not have enjoyed the show. The hosts are everything to that show, but enough with the commenting on the hosts. What an awesome fleet of cars in that vid/episode. I too enjoyed the enzo, never driven one but the video of clarkson enjoying it made me enjoy it. I will have to say I'm with him on his preference of the F40 over the Enzo (F60), it truely is more fun with raw power without computers helping the car be good (sometimes being bad is better than being good). Of course I'd never turn down an enzo.

It's no looker, but I really think I'd go for an F50 out of the 3 hyper-Ferraris. The raw, real feel of the F40 with the actual v12 from F1 of the time.
Eight cylinders just aren't enough for an ultimate road car, and I'll be changing my own gears, thanks |

My favorite Ferrari is the Enzo. I saw one in person at a dealership and its just ridiculous. Its has an amazingly aggressive, sexy, bulldog-ish look to it. That said, I'd still take a Porsche Carrera GT over a Ferrari any day. |

The Pink Floyd references were all down to the car being owned by Nick Mason - I don't know if the whole thing is in the clip, I have no way of downloading the whole 110meg file.
The joke was that Nick didn't want to put any extra miles on the Enzo after having shown it to top gear, so he flew home in his helicopter. Cue Jeremy Clarkson looking all happy and saying that they would let "The Stig" have a go .... It was a good episode, and they really do love their cars. I agree with Jeremy that I'd prefer to have a F40 though .... I'd probably prefer to go for a 288GTO - much more curves. A good looking car should have curves, just like a good woman |
