Wow $200. Nice car, good luck with the restoration. I bet that motor is a beast.
|
yeh I checked out the specs and it has 80hp. If that is what you meant by beast. The farmer I bought it from said that when we get it done bring it back and show my mom it was my dads car(the farmers dad).
|
Definately worth the $200, looks very restorable, very nice and complete.
|
Not bad...and its got low miles. I don't know ow someone can drive a car for 10 years then park it for like 30 years!
|
To each his own.
Good Luck. Let us know how it turns out..... |
I'll keep you guys posted but right now we (my son and I ) are working on the 86 camaro the other project car post awhile back we have a slight set back since he broke is ankle playing football. so I've done some body work on that one. I don't want to start the corvair till the other is done . I'll post pix of both as we get further along and start the other..

Ya 2 projects at once is to hard to keep going! |
I am just going to park the corvair till we get the camaro done. We are going to work on the camaro this winter. I think we might have it all done and ready to paint by this next summer. I have plenty of room in the garage to store the corvair till the camaro is completed.
|
And that's how a car gets parked for 10 yrs ;-).
husband: Oh it's been 10 yrs. Maybe I should do something with this car? wife: not until you finish working on that truck you said would be a quick fixer upper and the other you have in the garage. We need a new car any way. Why don't you just park it out in the barn? We have plenty of room and you can get to it when you finally have some time. |
yeh I see how it could happen that way, we are looking forward to getting it started.
|
Nice looking classic. As far as the 80hp goes, there was a factory turbo version of the Corvair. A litle extra oomph for that car . . . .

Unsafe at any speed. :D
Looks pretty nice. I wish I had the time and space to take proper care of my daily driver, let alone two project cars. EDIT: BTW, what kind of engine is that? A flat-four? |
Hey, that doesn't look bad at all, good luck with it! Man $200 is a steal!
|
Is the motor in the back?
because that front end has no vents at all! |

I had a 62, first car I got after I got my license. I loved that little car except it leaked oil like a sieve and needed premium gas to keep it from knocking. It also had a carbon monoxide leak into the interior and you had to leave the windows cracked.
