We USED to know how...now we make bastardizations of the classics.

They are supposed to be bringing the Challenger back...but instead of V8 RWD and two doors they siad it's going to be a V6 AWD abomination.

Ahh see I didn't watch that and I wished I did. I watched the Overhaulin' crew do up that guys Challenger but I would have liked to see the Cuda get done as well.

Man...why did Dodge ever get of the pony car business...as much as I like Mustangs I'd kill for a modern Cuda or Challenger. Can you imagine that 6.1 Hemi crammed into a car that weighed like 3400 lbs? Drool...

He was probably the person most in love with his ride that has ever been on that show. Half the people are almost comatose when they show them their cars. Personally they would have to get the jaws of life to get me off of Chip Foose if they did my car up like that. I'd likely drop trou right there and hump the tail pipe of the car I'd be so happy.

Isn't Chrysler supposed to bring out a Charger with the Hemi in the next year or two? From the sketches I've seen it looks like that will be ~3500lbs.

Sadly, we'll never see anything even close to the muscle car era again. Gas will never be that cheap again, emissions laws are too strict, and insurance companies are too willing to bend you over. They can do some very cool stuff with forced induction these days, but there's just no replacement for displacement.

I was next to a beautiful, mint Chevelle SS the other day, and it still blows my mind that you could walk into a dealership and just buy something like that. I'd have loved to have been around back then.

The muscle car wars are in full effect actually and they are bordering on the level of flat out dwarfing what was out in the 60s.
The only problem is they are hot machines wrapped in dull packages.
And the new Charger is coming out but considering it's going to be a 4 door based on the LX platform(think 300C) it's going to be 3800-4000 lbs easily.
It'll be fast but it's going to be heavy.
That same power in a Mustang sized car....can you say 12 second quarter miles bone stock...oh yes you can...

Have you checked on seeing how much a new Mustang GT would cost to import? They are like 24k in the states.

Eh the tech has progressed far enough now cats aren't that bad of a thing now like they used to be. I know of several guys running 400 RWHP on stroked Ford V8s fully smog legal and everything with cats.
